Hummm, i know that is a lame question, but honestly, what
is the best way to create a "melody" ? Is there something
like a VST plugin that creates random POLYPHONIC melodies ?

if you really don't feel like playing around with the notes
on your own and figuring something out, then there's an
option within fruity loops that let's you choose different
chords you can work with. then you can shift the notes
around to find a suitable melody. it's within the piano roll
window, under the main menu, under chord.

Thats what i mean. However most of the crap I "compose"
sounds aweful, I dont know what Im doing wrong. I randomize
a Melody, and than play it in ONE chord in the piano Roll,
and it sounds crap !?

Have you ever looked at preset scores in FRUITY LOOPS ? How
can I make my own ? Im not a musician...so, Im abit clueless

how long have you been trying to make melodies through
electronic means(which i presume you are using)? it took me
a good 3 years at least, to get comfortable with the whole
idea of making tracks that had decent melodies.. and i still
get some off-key here and there.

im not a music expert in the traditional and scholastic
sense, but i do pick up thigns from the music i listen to.
for instance, im not sure what your stuff sounds like, but
maybe timing is off? or you are putting too many notes in
one place, when the beat is significantly slower? something
like that...

dont bother with melodies! if you cant do them just
concentrate on beats. as the beats become more and more
perfect, you will feel the need for a melody and it will
just slot in easily. if you dont have a midi keyboard, i
suggest you get one. a cheap one will do, that helps a hell
of a lot.

think about it.. if it starts sounding too busy or
confusing, then maybe you have too many different notes
going all over the place. can you try to pick three notes
that sound ok when they succeed each other, and then try to
rearrange only those 3 in various positions? and lengthen
them so it doesnt' sound so rushed. once you get used to it,
you can add more and then shorten the notes and figure out
eventually, what you think works best.

im not sure if i am helping you at all, but this is what im
getting from what you're saying. :)

i most of the times think of something in my mind, then hum
/ sing some melodies and play em on my keyboard

the melodies just come out.. (maybe playing piano and guitar
helped alot)

Ok, I tried it for the last 20 Minutes, and everything I
created sounded shit.
However, I thought there would be a more "economoclly"
faster way to create melodys. I really dont wanna go the
"trial & error" way....hmm...

try using an arpeggiator, and playing notes in a minor /
major / whateveryoulike scale

easy way to create something nice

Yeah that's what I mostly do too. I just try some shit on my
keyboard until I like the sound of it.
