Watching Sleepy Hollow right now... the Gothic atmopshere
and washed out colors are absolutely beautiful. Same goes
for Saving Private Ryan, the film is ''grimy''. Fight Club-
David Fincher makes everything look straight from a music
video, processed and distincitve looking... and a lot of
Kubrick's films. Eyes Wide Shut with its dreamy atmosphere,
and Clockwork Orange. Kind of retro but has aspects and
features that don't really fit in ANY time period...

i suggest:
Deadman - it has johnny depp in it, but I don't remember who
its directed by. nice film but not the best.

any David Lynch film for sure will blow your mind, I"ve seen
Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, and Mulholland Drive all of which
you should see, but theres also Eraserhead by him which I
haven't seen.

Requiem for a Dream - One of the better movies, ever. I
don't remember who directed this one, but Clint Mansell (pop
will eat itself I think?) does the music. he also did the
soundtrack for Pi which I haven't seen, but intend to.

Donnie Darko - pretty good movie, not much else to say about
it.

institute benjamenta is one of the most stylish movies i've
seen in a while

jean pierre jeunet's films (amelie, city of lost children,
delicatessen) are all great stylistically as well.. i
suppose alien resurrection is stylish also, but its kinda
crappy, so i dont really group it with his others.

"The Shining...Wendy Carlos music"

nah.. she/he did only a little music for the film.. mostly
atmospheric electronic stuff. a lot of it is Ligeti.
