i don't like it either... except the top part (and even so,
the blue is a bit too bright).

don't like the name of the album either - too bad, the
tracks i heard were good, even for me (not a radiohead fan
at all)...

i'd like the price of the album to be 25¢, like it says on
the cover though! ; )

my friend didnt like the cover to the "there there" single.
its basically all the bottom stuff with none of the top
stuff. so he may not like this at all. though i dont mind
it.

not something id pick over kid a or amnesiac, i guess.

woo, they've lost it now. i was under the impression this
was going to be a bit different than the last two albums,
but its shaping up to me a watered down version of the last
three, without all the inspired genius. ah well.
and this artwork looks like the kid a hidden booklet melded
with the kid a special edition. probably my least favorite
stuff they've ever done art wise. besides pablo honey.

it's obviously not an eye-candy piece, doesn't make sense to
judge it like one

offline zaphod from the metaverse on 2003-04-18 23:22 [#00657913]

its artwork, thus its meant to have some effect on your
brain. the effect on mine is largely negative, and i'll
judge it as such.

reminds me of the no doubt album cover ("rock steady")

i hate to admit it since jupitah just made such a good point
about this NOT being eye candy (thus it's unfair to judge it
as such), but the cover doesn't do much for me either. i'm
sure stanley donwood made the inside of it gorgeous though.

fair enough. personally, i can't judge every work of art
with the same balance of thought and spontaneous reaction.
this one just called for a little thought and contemplation
on the words, left brain stlye.

offline zaphod from the metaverse on 2003-04-18 23:26 [#00657919]

yeah. i mean i see what they're trying to do with it, and i
guess it works in the context of the album.
as a cover it has nothing on kid a and ok computer though.

i thought it had destinctive similarities with ok computer
work! looking at messages lying all around us with product
brands and their messages which after a while we become
accustomed to and conform to

it is about 'eye candy' but from the other angle.

" looking at messages lying all around us with product
brands and their messages which after a hile we become
accustomed to and conform to"

not a very interesting idea. has been done LOADS of times
before and better.

What a truly disgusting cover!!!!!!!!!!!
The blue bit is nice but the rest is unbelievably awful. I
sure the music's still deadly tho :)

just my opinion, but i wouldn't think this theme is being
used to be original. i'm sure radiohead are aware that they
are not the first to use this conept
