Crap new Squaresoft games

Does anyone think that Squaresoft games have lost the charm
a lot of their games on PSOne had? I thought FFX was awful
(nice of them to have Meg Ryan as the protagonist), FFX-2
looks incredibly shit (FFX-2, wtf were they
thinking?!...actually, it has 'cash in' written all over it
now that I think about it...Kingdom Hearts was just gay (and
it's now going to be a flagship title with a sequel already
announced and more to come), what are they doing damnit...

They could make a sequel of Einhander, Vagrant Story, Chrono
Cross, Front Mission 3, etc, ect but no they choose to make
rubbish that appeals more to the mainstream than their
hardcore fans...not surprising considering they lost a
shiteload of mulah from that crap FF movie but still...their
PS2 games suck, at least Namco didn't stuff up Xenosaga...

What are your thoughts regarding Squares PS2 material in
comparison to their PSOne classics?

They have got a bit samey, but i saw FFxi in tokyo, and it
did look impressive, they just need to add a dose to the FF
range to give it some life.

One problems i've always found with FF is if you leave it
for a couple of weeks you've already forgotten the story
line!

ff8 was the last good square game.
ff7 was the last great one.

The FF movie was pretty poor, but graphically it was
stunning. The best bit was when the professor gets
surrounded by that white stuff at the end and say "ohhh Its
warm." I was pissing myself in the cinema it looked like he
was being cummed on in anti grav

Good things come in time. Just wait for this Square Enix
merger to get into full force.

And hey, FFX wasn't a bad game, nice graphics, sweet music,
and decent story and gameplay.

And if you want some old-school, then I sugegst you pick up
Final Fantasy Origins (Final Fantasy 1 + 2) with updated
graphics ad gameplay of course.

ff7 kicked ass, i nearly beat it

i nearly beat ff9 too, i think i got near the end of the 3rd
disk

the only thing i hate about ff games is that they're way too
fucking long. i lose intrest in them right when i've almost
beat them

Well, those are classics, but FF1 and FF2 paved the way,
especially FF2 with it's dramatic storyline.

Has anyone seen a meaty preview for Crystal Chronicles? I
can't find anything anywhere.. I'll probably be waiting
until the curtain comes up next month at E3.

Favorite Squaresoft games :
Chrono Trigger
Secret of Mana
Legend of Mana
Final Fantasy Adventure
Final Fantasy Legend III

Games that I really liked but didn't get to play much :
Chrono Cross
Vagrant Story
Final Fantasy Tactics

Shittiest Squaresoft game ever :
The Bouncer

Final Fantasy Tactics for the Gameboy looks great. It's
being developed by some of the Atlus team that worked on
Tactics Ogre - An awesome and severly underrated GBA game.

chrono cross just wasn't that good in my eyes. too much
going on to really get into any of the characters. my
FAVorite FF would be VI. that game...rules. plain and
simple.

FFVIII would be number two in my book. i beat IX, but it was
just...meh. nothin' fancy. X was fun just for blitz ball. i
played that game for ages.

ff: anthology and ff: chronicles were just completely
ridiculous. sure, the movie sequences are kinda neat...but.
eh. though i WILL say i enjoy having FFV outside of an
emulator rom. hehehe.

"X was fun just for blitz ball. i played that game for
ages."

That was practically the only thing I didn't like about it.
I still don't know how to play.. Don't you have to do
something with it to get Wakka's ultimate weapon?

a vagrant story, I loved that game, never could complete it
though. I'm stuck at 84% . I must have played over 50 hours
but still haven't found what I have to do. But it's been
like a year or two since I played it for the last time.
But yeah a sequal would rule.

oh and I'm also a FF player. VII was the best IMO, the
storyline, the gameplay
it all fitted perfectly.
The junctioning system of VIII sucked arse and the story
wasn't that good either, but the cardgame was cool.
VIV was okay I guess. :)
X is pretty cool, the blitsball thing was fun to play
etc;...

they should make a remake of FF VII for playstation 2 or a
sequel on that story with the same gameplay, I like how you
could attach materias to your weapons and stuff.
