how about plaid?

Netlon Sentinel from yurp on 2001-10-14 15:26 [#00040978]

i recently bought double figure. i think it's nice, but i
also think what aphex twin said in the groove.de interview
about all other warp records being crap contains some truth.
double figure doesn't add anything to anything aphex twin or
autechre (which i do think are great and original) have
made. it's just the same, considerably less intricate but
entertaining nonetheless.

any thoughts on this?

not for 3's is probably more interesting than double figure.
I listened to samples from double figure and it sounded like
music from 1980 or something. They have some playful sounds
that are more complex and some very nice lyrics (bjork?) on
not for 3's.

Warp should just be Afx, Ae, and Squarepusher. Who the fuck
is antipop consortium?

I also really like the previous side project black dog
"bytes". It's percussiony like squarepusher, only it has
more structure, instead of being mixed up all the time, it's
a single mixed up loop that repeats, plus there's nice
melody over the top.

Well, Plaid is one of my favourite bands. At least as good
as Richard himself IMO. Check out 'Not For Threes', 'Rest
Proof Clockwork', 'Undoneson' etc etc... Awesome original
music.

Antipop consortium is DOPE As FUCK nice rhymes, dope beats
(priest got a annoying voice though)!!

I spoke to two of them, pretty cool guys, very
"downtoearthmellowtype" persons.

Yall better listen to them.
