It's gonna be funny when RDJ releases next lp-

Joyce Barber on 2001-04-10 22:20 [#00003062]

Because all you nonces that try so hard to imitate that
'drill'n'bass' style of his are going to be left redundant,
when you find out-yes, shock horror!!, he has moved on in
style.
Try developing your own fucking style instead of living in
the shadow of someone elses past work.
It's not about how many snare rolls you can quantize into a
4/4 bar and make sound like metal mickey. A tune helps as
well.
I am angry........

hedtwin from www.mp3.com/anclove on 2001-04-10 22:42 [#00003063]

ooooooooooh, handbags!!!!!!!

Joyce Barber on 2001-04-10 22:54 [#00003064]

You are a perfect example.
3 minutes in fruit loops and you think you know how to write
a track.
Your stuff is a waste of internet page.
Come back in 7 years when you've grown out of puberty and
taken that f'n grin off your cherub face! You ass.

Id Lab on 2001-04-10 23:03 [#00003065]

'A tune'? Aren't they terribly old-fashioned? We wouldn't
want to do anything that's been done before, would we? Fact
is, drill & bass is good, whether it's original or not. And
people like Hedtwin and me wouldn't claim to be as
innovative as the Twin, but we're practising. I hope you
have an innovative alternative, and you're not just trying
to put people off making electronic music.

kidtrash from Santa Fe, NM on 2001-04-10 23:37 [#00003072]

I'm with Joyce!!!
Up with dope!!!
Down with hope!!!

kidtrash from Santa Fe, NM on 2001-04-10 23:38 [#00003073]

I really haven't heard shit from most mp3 artists worth
listening to anyways. A bunch of poorly constructed tunes
and boring drumbeats. Wanna be autechres and aphextwins.
Yawn... Forget all that shit.

hevquip from horse's foot on 2001-04-10 23:40 [#00003074]

at least we've been given the inspiration to create

kidtrash from Santa Fe, NM on 2001-04-10 23:42 [#00003075]

yo hevquip!
what's up man?
I am organising a concert in Santa Fe. Wanna Perform?

hedtwin from manchester on 2001-04-11 00:02 [#00003076]

my music, fuck, I don't even like most of it. OH GOD!!!!
YOUR NOT MOCKING THE FACT THAT I'M YOUNG ARE YOU!!! Oh shit,
what am i gonna do now? I feel so violated. Could u get any
more pretentious?

TekN010G from Australia on 2001-04-11 00:10 [#00003078]

shut the fuck up all of you, If you want these dickless
fucks to shut up, simply don't respond, and keep making
music, you have to start somewhere }:(

hedtwin from manchester on 2001-04-11 00:19 [#00003082]

btw, what track did u listen to?

Joyce Barber on 2001-04-11 00:52 [#00003086]

I was using the term 'puberty' as a way of saying that to my
ears atleast your stuff sounds amateurish and not properly
formed. Wait until you have developed your 'talent' and
then proceed with polluting peoples minds.
Oh, I heard all four of them and they all sound the same-are
they remixes?

[REFLEX] from Canada on 2001-04-11 01:21 [#00003089]

Ahem.. how.. do you suppose people are supposed to grow as
an artist? They have to start somewhere.. now I haven't
really done anything with making my music on the Computer or
anything, but id love to and i think it would be a thrill to
make my music.. even if it did suck for a while. Its the
fact that people are making music, trying to do something of
their own. I think its great, personally. I think its damn
cool. And I also think that people like you should just go
away, nothing good in this world ever happened with people
like you around. Throw your age around.... blah blah blah.
Im 18, and i don't care what you say, or how old you are.
Ugh.

Ross from Can. on 2001-04-11 01:29 [#00003094]

i make music and put it on cds..my first 2 albums blow, my
third i started to get it, and my 4th i'm really proud of,
even a month later..It doesnt sound anything like aphex
either

Ross from Can. on 2001-04-11 01:29 [#00003095]

(not saying you guys are ripping off aphex!)

TekN010G from Australia on 2001-04-11 01:31 [#00003096]

"you know that I'm dead" (a music track that I made) is
definitly original, some of my other stuff would be easily
cliche'd and catalogued, but I started making most of my
electronic music back when I was into shitty grunge, but
just because a lot of my tracks sound samey doesn't mean
that it is all I can do, I am still progressing as a
musician, but I've been progressing very fast since starting
to listen to better music, and It's not because I'm stealing
Idea's, It's because I'm understanding music more and more
as I'm seeing how the masters such as aphex twin can
manipulate the simplest tune into a masterpiece, and It
inspires people,.....
It's people like you, (and religious people) who have fucked
up the course of development and caused wars over stupid
shit, over the years, I wish more people would grow up and
show a bit of empathy

Ross from Can. on 2001-04-11 01:46 [#00003097]

tekno, id like to hear you know that im dead..

Joyce Barber on 2001-04-11 01:50 [#00003099]

Hahaha! Some of the logic is going out the window on this
thread slightly.
What's wrong in being honest and expressing my views? What
would you rather? I lie through my teeth and say how great
stuff is when it's not.
I know everyone has to start somewhere, but you can do that
in your bedroom-you don't have to upload the first track
that comes into your head because you get all crazy and
think its a work of genius. There are hundreds of artists
who have honed their skills and are now seriously seeking
record deals, but they get lost in amongst all the
aforementioned dross of people who think that just because
they can play a few acid loops in Rebirth think they're gods
gift to ears.
Plus, stop fucking talking about age-that was never the
agenda to begin with -don't you bother to read the posts
above yours.
And trust me, I won't be starting any wars or religious
crusades in the near future

[REFLEX] from Canada on 2001-04-11 01:56 [#00003103]

joyce whatthefuckever: yeah well whatever, i don't give a
shît either way ok?. there is nothing wrong with opening
your mouth to speak anything, its just when to know or not
if its right or wrong, or if its just in spite of what
others have done/written, really its just annoying.

TekN010G from Australia on 2001-04-11 02:03 [#00003105]

goto besonic.com and type "serial rate" in the artist search
If you want to hear it

Joyce Barber on 2001-04-11 02:07 [#00003107]

I give up .
Try to give a rational explanation and get an incoherent one
back from someone who can't spell a label's name.
Go figure.
Live oblivious y'all .
Be a few years years yet before you bens graduate to a
better board to spout forward crap i.e Joyrex
L8tR fools.

[REFLEX] from Canada on 2001-04-11 03:46 [#00003111]

reflex? i made that name up... well not made up, but ive
been using this specific name REFLEX for a long time, years
infact, far before i heard any AFX.. so shut the fuck up.
Uts pretty easy so sit there on your ass and critisize away,
acting like your better for some odd reason.

Ross from Can. on 2001-04-11 06:26 [#00003123]

Joyce, you do have one good point there..i dont put my music
on the internet because i'd rather keep it with me and
around my friends, or sometimes people that just ask me for
some on the internet. It's not bad or anything, it's just i
dont want to put it up on the internet, it's just this
feeling i have..

rp on 2001-04-11 08:01 [#00003124]

joyce you have to know that these artists you listen to are
not going to make music forever. Also just because we make
music and we listen to music does not mean that we aspire to
make the music we listen to.I do feel though that alot of
good artists are being trashed and dissed by the overflow of
bad music to record labels I see that they just dont have
the time to listen to all of it.
-rpee

TekN010G from Australia on 2001-04-11 08:02 [#00003125]

the way I see it ,.........

It's my choice to put it up there,...

It's your choice to download it,.....

personally I don't give a shit either way,

Someone mocked users of Fruity Loops.

Fair enough it does not cost thousands of coins, but surely
it is what you do with it that counts.

wizards teeth from Inside a Kangaroo on 2001-04-11 11:23 [#00003137]

Hey Joyce I have been contemplating your first comments.

Points :

1. How do you know what music we are all producing, if you
have not heard it.

2. How do you know we are nonces, I would not touch yours
with Hulk Hogan's.

Wizard MaC from Amersfoort on 2001-04-11 12:07 [#00003139]

That's right and there simply isn't one right way to write
music. Music is something personal and so is the defenition
of it.

DO WHAT YOU WANT
MAKE THE MUSIC

Joyce Barber on 2001-04-11 12:39 [#00003146]

By all means make your music, just save it for yourself and
spare the rest of us wasting 10 mintues downloading the
fucker!!
I can't be assed answering anymore pointless queries. Let
this thread die.
+
Didn't speak for all of you personally-more in general terms
to identify the sort of people I have already mentioned.
Can't be assed to reiterate again.
Haven't you got a better thread to follow? Like what's your
favourite colour, RDJ track, album, ep, pair of underpants,
best way to jerk off?

BTW I'm not going to spend more energy on this topic.

Dont worry about Joyce. He, she, what the fuck ever, just
wants some attention cuz he, she , what the fuck ever, gets
none in the real world.

I think that there are a lot of viable artists on the web.
Take a look at http://www.mp3.com/cell He is very good
artist. Talent has to be discovered, and it very well can be
discovered on the web.

diastole on 2001-04-12 09:29 [#00003274]

it tells you who started the topic on the topics
list...."you are all non-esticated pants, goodbye"

od from australia on 2001-04-12 14:57 [#00003295]

yeah i use only fruityloops. Ive copped loads of shit for it
too but i dont care coz i know that half of the people out
there are only bagging it because it seems simple and
plastic at first glance. So what if loads of mp3.com artists
are crap? coz occasionally you get a wicked one and then its
worth it. Also i like the majority of the mp3.com artists
out there. :P

Ps ive heard it all before. "all the mp.3com artists are
crap" its not original really.

Human © on 2001-04-12 15:16 [#00003298]

How goes od? Actually, Orange Dust here is on a neat label
sort of deal on mp3.com. The stuff is quite nice. Tefosav. I
think the addy is www.mp3.com/tefosav

Ramalpha84 from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-04-13 01:35 [#00003339]

I think I suck. My new songs are alright. But I don't think
of myself as a musician, I'm just another kid fiddling
around on some software to make some tunes and drums. I do
it PURELY for FUN.

I try not to copy others, but I defenitely get inspired by
other music. I have made a couple of drill & bass tracks. It
is super fun making it, although it's harder to make longer
songs. It really adds to it eg. Makes happy songs sound
happier because of the playfull drums.

Don't say were wasting internet space. You can't waste
endless amounts of space. If something lasts forever use it.

Ramalpha84 from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-04-13 01:39 [#00003340]

BTW, I reckon Rich will make weird experimental stuff like
perc6 and equation song thing. Only, more tunes. So it'll
probably end up like AE meets AFX.
