His solid flesh had never been away, For each dawn found him in his usual place, But every night his spirit loved to race Through gulfs and worlds remote from common day. He had seen Yaddith, yet retained his mind, And come back safely from the Ghooric zone, When one still night across curved space was thrown That beckoning piping from the voids behind.
He waked that morning as an older man, And nothing since has looked the same to him. Objects around float nebulous and dim - False, phantom trifles of some vaster plan. His folk and friends are now an alien throng To which he struggles vainly to belong.
- H.P. Lovecraft

Love Songs in age - By Philip Larkin, from his anthology entitled 'The Whitsun Weddings' in 1964
She kept her songs, they took so little space,
The covers pleased her:
One bleached from lying in a sunny place,
One marked in circles by a vase of water,
One mended, when a tidy fit had seized her,
And coloured, by her daughter -
So they had waited, till in widowhood
She found them, looking for something else, and stood
Relearning how each frank submissive chord Had ushered in
Word after sprawling hyphenated word,
And the unfailing sense of being young
Spread out like a spring-woken tree, wherein That hidden freshness, sung,
That certainty of time laid up in store
As when she played them first. But, even more,
The glare of that much-mentioned brilliance, love, Broke out, to show
Its bright incipience sailing above,
Still promising to solve, and satisfy,
And set unchangeably in order. So
To pile them back, to cry,
Was hard, without lamely admitting how
It had not done so then, and could not now.

Untitled
somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond any experience, your eyes have their silence: in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me, or which i cannot touch because they are too near your slightest look will easily unclose me though i have closed myself as fingers, you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens (touching skilfully, mysteriously) her first rose or if you wish to be close to me, i and my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly, as when the heart of this flower imagines the snow carefully everywhere descending; nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals the power of your intense fragility: whose texture compels me with the colour of its countries, rendering death and forever with each breathing (i do not know what it is about you that closes and opens; only something in me understands the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses) nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

I think the story goes like Coleridge did a lot of opium and fell asleep, and when he woke up he had this poem in his head (not sure if he had dreamed about it) and started to write it down. When he had made 300 lines someone called for him, and he had to stop writing. Later when he got back all his inspiration had disappeared.
But it's a really famous poem, and you should have read it atleast once.
Coleridge wrote other famous poems such as "Crysalis" (I think that's the title, not sure though)...

lines on ale fill with mingled cream and amber, i will drain that glass again. such hilarious visions clamber through the chamber of my brain - quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies come to life and fade away; what care I how time advances? i am drinking ale today.

i dunno. it's really not that great of a poem...but my friend kalvin and i used to have a lot of fun reciting it after we were somewhat 'inebriated'. =)

design i found a dimpled spider, fat and white, on a white heal-all, holding up a moth like a white piece of rigid satin cloth-- assorted characters of death and blight mixed ready to begin the morning right, like the ingredients of a witches' broth-- a snow-drop spider, a flower like a froth, and dead wings carried like a paper kite.
what had that flower to do with being white, the wayside blue and innocent heal-all? what brought the kindred spider to that height, then steered the white moth thither in the night? what but design of darkness to appall?-- if design govern in a thing so small.

Melissa:
You are my heart, You are my soul, You give me life, And make me whole.
I give to you, All of my life, To hope someday, You'll be my wife.
I want to live, Life by your side, To see the love, You have inside.
I want to dream, Sweet dreams of you, And ever know, Our love is true.
I tell you now, I know for sure, My heart was ill, You are the cure.
Melissa dear, I love you so, And with these words, I let you know:
You are my heart, You are my soul, You give me life, And make me whole.

Oh Jeez... I wish you could see this. Lights coming up...
I've never seen a painting that captures the beauty of the Ocean,
at a moment like this...
I'm gonna make you rich, Bud Fox. Yeah, rich enough, you can afford a girl like Darrien...
This is your wakeup call, pal... Go to work.
[anyone think this sounds familiar? ;)]
