Tri Repetae

offline magicant from Canada on 2003-04-14 01:15 [#00649006]

holy shit, i like, FORGOT about this album or something...i
went to my CD collection and saw all the Autehre as
usual...but i guess i kept over-looking Tri Repetae...i saw
Amber and Lp5 and all the EPs...

maybe its because its cover-less that Tri Repetae kept
slipping my mind...

...i have a point here.

Tri Repetae is epic Autechre! the ultimate album.

It's got the best artwork in my opinion, especially the
second picture with the chess pieces and valves - That's the
best visual representation of Autechre I've ever seen.

different artwork

oh yes... i do believe it is the most EPIC album to
this date that they've put out

with that said... magicant, what's your opinion on the
pinnacle point of that album?

I have Tri Repetae and I believe it has different artwork
indeed when comparedto Tri Repetae ++.

was the weakest autechre albumn...but damn it's still good

IHMO, Tri Repetae is Autechre's best work to date. It's just
simply awesome.

yeah, the cd i have has images of uhh... a glass bottle,
some other metal compartment, some more metal components, in
that green hue and brownish/yellow hue, with some sort of
'fragmented' effect... no chess pieces..
wait a minute.. maybe those weird metal compartments in the
middle section of the artwork ARE chess pieces? .. hrmm

i've never really put any effort in listening this cd, it's
just there on the shelf
i always thought it was the most boring æ-release, but i'll
give it another try soon :)

I do find it quite boring as well. Too much repetaetion. I
do like Rsdio though. As for disc two, I can only stand
Anvil Vapre, I do not like the Garbage tracks at all. Second
Peng is the best Ae I've heard. So there.

oh, is that so? to me, garbage is one of the best autechre
releases. are you sure you've listened closely to
broncusevenmx24 and vietrmx21?

offline DJ Xammax from not America on 2003-04-14 05:26 [#00649232]
Points: 11512 Status: Lurker | Followup to acidophilus: #00649219

Close enough not to like them. I listen for a minute or
so... and once I realize that I'm guaranteed for nothing to
change significantly in the whole track, I stop the track. I
just find it so dull. I would like vletrmx21, but I think
the melody sounds so plain and lacking in depth I can't
really stand it.

i love tri repetae++ it's very consistent.140+minutes of
music and i don't like only rsdio.the rest is great
exspecially stud, dael, rotar, clipper, overand and cd 2 is
almost better than cd 1.

it's just an awesome album but my favourite releases have to
be "garbage"(just beautiful to listen to) and "amber",and
"drane" off one of the peel 12"s

i got a record in the mail the other day thats by rephlex.
its got 4 mixes on it. they're by aphex, cylob, autechre,
and mu-ziq. its awesome but i can't figure out which track
goes where. it labels all the tracks on side a. this is
pretty broad but does anyone know what im talking about?

Not really,

but the mixes should be recognizable I guess?
Normally you can hear the differnce between Afx and Ae and
mu-ziq and cylob. Still it's kinda stupid to release
something without info.

hmmm, well out of the stuff I've heard, all the albums from
incunabula to ep7 (yes, ep7 is an album imo) this is the
weakest release by far... I love Incunabula, Amber, Chiastic
Slide, LP5 mostly, and now EP7 is really floating my boat...
I don't know... it seems to me that the albums before Tri
Repetae were more melodic, and were great and amazing
because of that... the melodies are awesome... after tri
repetae there was a bigger focus on interesting beats and
rhythms... but the transition there, which is tri repetae
just bores me... although some tracks like Clipper, C/pach,
and Rsdio are awesome!!

worth it.

Broncusevenmx24 is the best ever! Shame on you Xammax for not
listening to the entire thing. This is the album
style that autechre should have stayed with. Confield and
Draft are good, but I think they got way too experimental.
But i guess they wanted to keep going, to keep exploring
electronic music, but tri repetae will always be their home,
a safe haven they can come back to whenever they want. All
they have to do is make the choice to do so.

tri repitae ++ isn't my favorite, but I think it's their
best. I happen to like chiastic slide probably because its
the first one I bought. But its hard for me to put it all
in perspective since as of 2 months ago, i never had any
autechre cd's and now i have ... hmm, lets see, 5 LPs and 4
EPs There's just so much to get into!

is it possible to listen to 'clipper' without turning the

Eutow and C/Pach are the best IMO. Eutow is an orgy in buzzy
glides and C/Pach has the most beautiful simple melody. The
perfectly tuned percussions and samples are amazing.

Anyone know the notes to the C/Pach melody?
