I'm a huge fan of The Future Sound of London, what got my hooked was Dead Cities so go for it. It's one of those albums you have to listen to the whole thing from start to finish in one session.

Accelerator = standard techno. Lifeforms = greatest ambient album ever. ISDN - trip hop/acid jazz-influenced ambient. Dead Cities = very dark, IDM influenced experimental. The Isness - more prog rock and psychedelia than anything else. Not a good example atall. Love the album though.
Choose what sounds best for you, I suppose.
Allow me to plug my website. http://www.futuresoundoflondon.fsnet.co.uk
It's pretty concise (I try to get most of the news passed through either them or their management)...so have a read. Or something. Enough plugging.
Enjoy Dead Cities. :)

i love accelerator, but thats just me. dead cities has some good (i love the we have explosive 12") but its def. not their best work. at the moment i think i will go for cascade ep. it's just brilliance; dark in a organic way.. so lush

fsol are fucking amazing. i think that they are true innovators and really push the envelope, and my buttons too. if i could do anything half as good as them then i would be real pleased with myself. they are one of the reasons that i love music so mush.
just get everything you can, and buy the albums if you can afford it. they deserve your money more than most i think.

what's so brilliant and innovative about FSOL? i'm a fan, i just don't know what they do that is so genius, except for maybe their usage of 40 minute ep's as spinoffs for single songs. that's interesting (how they rework something so starkly). but please someone tell me what is innovative about them, it'd help me with a paper i'm doing on electronica (i'd like to include fsol since i'm a fan but i dunno what they've done that's any different from people before them, no matter how cool the music sounds).

I never heard anything like Lifeforms before it came out. But that could be just me not knowing enough. :)
I saw also Papua new guinea pop up as classis in some books and articles.
It's a hard question. Fsol was there from the moment I started listening to electronic music, I take them for granted I guess. Their innovative in some kind of way but it's hard to describe.

Just listened to a few tracks from Dead Cities. I really like the sound of it. Especially the title track keeps playing in my mind. Thanks for the recommendations everyone. Might check out some other releases later on.
Ceri: Would you happen to have the Stakker movie special on your PC somewhere or perhaps in analogue form? I checked some extracts of this movie special with Z Twig and Rhubarb playing and I really like it very much. Nowhere to be found on the net though, so no idea if it can be oredered somewhere. :(
