on the way back from ATP (heh heh!) my mate was playing with a funky deck of cards he got from iceland. they depicted "the 13 santas of iceland" or some shit, and had these queer little gnome type characters on em adn i laughed at their similarity to Richards own mischievious demeanor Anyway, i noted the little tykes had funny little names and these were two of them... windowpeaker, doorslammer ...lol sounds funny when u translate those names to english. not to say they don't sound stupid in icelandic as well :) i think doorslammer is the most popular santa! doorslammer used to visit me at my kindergarden and all the kids would yell "HURÐASKELLIR!" (=DOORSLAMMER) then he slammed the damn door after he left the bastard! ...we'll if he didn't slam the door he would be giving up everything he stood for ! :) |
