heard about the review over at joyrex, so i went out in search of it. spin's simon reynolds gave a drukqs a 5. ironic, since his clitty gets quite wet over most RDJ. i didn't buy the spin mag so i can't copy it. from what i remember, his conclusions are: "rdj is no erik satie," "this actually could have been a fab 4 track ep, consisting of bbydyonchord [he says it sounds like BoC], gwely mermans [something about "gabba," dunno about that], gwarek 2 [the fucking worst track on the album], and taking control," "the piano tracks are lame: just a bunch of inane chord progressions." of course, simon can go eat a dick, but generally he's one of the more perceptive writers about electronic music. he's just not that big a fan of the whole drill n bass thing i guess. |
