I primarily use the following: Fruityloops 3.1.1 Wavelab Quadrasid VST You shouldn't take other peoples advice though, I've found... You need to get broadband and try out everything you can [you also need to realize there's no way in hell you're gonna pay for software, when you have the internet ;) ] You gotta find what you like best, and just experiment yr balls off.
