could there be something like this, that when you click on some name on the now online list, a window would open and you could chat with the other person, not spamming the board unecesary... what do you think of this ? |

i give you a example. i saw that today a new polish guy entered the board. i don't want to spam (and get points) by talking to him on the board. so i have to send him a mail. but he checks his mail two times a day.... so i would click on his name and talk bout this small feature |

That would be an extremely good idea. Same concept as the soulseek Instant message system. It would elminate a good portion of spam I'd think. |

What about xltronic e-mail accounts, that would alert users to messages only they can see. Like posts actually in threads that don't show up except for certain priveleged users! |

hahaha I don't like to resort to immature quibblign just because some people think they're so high and mighty. Seems to come in waves--like there will be periods where everyone is especially opinionated. I admit that I probably come off as a jerk at times--who doesn't? :) |

I reckon it would be sweet is a little chatroom was implemented on the side of the page or soemthign so you could chat and browse the mb at the same time....It might be a little impractical, but I think it could possibly work and be really cool. I would be all "Hey wigga! chizzeck this thrizzead out! It's the dizzope, mang, and I mean stupid fresh!" and then pretty much everyone else could be all "fuck off" but yeah it'd be cool |

you see, there are certain problems with implementing chat in html :) if you know what i mean... though a java applet could be written... |

the instant messaging thing sounds fine but i doubt a chatroom would work, just look over at watm, they have one but never use it |

Well if this would ever happen, i really think every user should be able to make a choice between "available for chatting" or "not available for chatting". I often have xltronic opened in the background and don't have time to talk... and besides that, i just don't always feel like chatting anyway! Sometimes i just want to quietly post my posts :-p |

I can't stand chatrooms, and the ''instant messaging'' thing doesn't tickle my fancy, but private messages could be useful. |
