What about them?
Who are they anyway?
And why do so many people hate them?

GOTHS

i'd say goths are about as tight-knit as IDMers...i dunno,
possible to be goth without ever wearin black clothes and
white makeup
it's more a loose term than anything else...

i think there're goths in germany as well, but they're
called "grufties"

(gruft = german word for grave)

why do you mention Germany? is it an attempt to piss me off?
you'd better not mention Belgium or Sweden then.

my German teacher mentioned it when i was in 9th grade

you with enough force to knock you off your feet.

you don't sound like a Goth

talk about Goths instead

how do they urinate? do they urinate at all?
probably not to make their life even more squalid and
miserable >:)

Especially when I go to a new wave party.

And I want to mention I live in Belgium.

BWA HA HA that first link is funny. :D

There is a "goth partol" at my school that consists of about
*counts* two (2) kids... whom are step brothers or
soemthing. They call themselves the Goth Patrol; IM not
amking that up. They wear big black pants and slipknot
tshirts (ehh?! goth??) and have dyed black hair that goes
down to their chins. I think they are both juniors.

Sometimes during the summer, spookyluke and I see one of
them mowing the lawn (where he may or may not live), riding
aorund on his little lawnmower and looking very miserable
indeed. :)

He he, there was a kid like you described in my school. I
know most people have a degree of teenage angst, but to
indulge it to the degree that some kids do is hilarious.

Dude, Manson is sooo NOT goth. And while we're at it,
neither is Trent Reznor or Placebo. When is the last time
you saw Manson eating Doritos or drinking Pepsi?

Do doritios or pepsi have anything to do with "goth"? 0_o'

Manson, NIN, Placebo... not Goth. I don think bands like
cradle of filth are goth either.

The only thing that I really really consider to have any
gothness to it is Bauhaus. I LOVE Bauhaus. I think other
groups (like the ones mentioned above) just take after them
and try to BE goth. But alas, they are not!

All the goths i have met are idiots

"Oh my mum threw out my favourite pair of black
trousers...that CLEARLY means she hates me"

oh and this one crops up alot

"Yeah look ot those people, i'm so much smarter than them
because im a goth"

It makes me sick they think they are better than everyone
else, they have NOTHING to be depressed about. They live in
a nice home, have disposable income, have access to
knowledge, most of them have other 'goth friends'.

I've only met one goth i liked

I agree with Cabbog.

Manson is NOT goth. (He's way to fake for being goth)
Neither are all the other known bands mentioned here.
That doesn't mean goths don't like them.

I don't know too many real gothic bands , but I know
Lacrimosa, who are kind of goth , and Within temptation.
Within temptation are quite popular around here.

aaaargh!
Clothes and music don't have to go together.
I wear gothic clothes sometimes and I listen to idm.
Fuck putting labels on people!

yeah, but...

most goths i have met are VERY stereotypical. it comes with
the territory. and goth and where it comes from as a culture
and a style is just...

childish and selfish.

in general.
there are always exceptions.
so let's not get all nuts over it.

I was into the Goth culture a few years ago and it exposed
me to music like NIN, Sisters of Mercy, Cure, Depeche Mode
etc. They are some of the first "real" artists I got into
and helped me become so addicted to music :)

Most of the goths i met seemed to care a hell of a lot more
about music than the average person.

my experience may be VERY different from all of yours.
diferent countries, different ages, etc...

my experience is that its all about being depressed and
overly sensitive for no good reason, and hating your
parents, and doing WAY too many drugs, and basically being a
terd. acting like a stain on a sofa. hating yourself. and im
just not down with that in ANY way.

liek i said... thats just my experience.

none of the goths i met were remotely depressed, just people
into a different lifestyle and enjoying clubbing and going
out as much as anyone.

thats odd. it must be different over there. its ALL ABOUT
being insane and having emotional problems over here. once
again, from my experience...

basically being an OVERLY rebellious teen and trying to slip

yeah it is odd, i's sure there are some goths like that
here, just from my experience not very many at all.
Sometimes i envy them being able to go to clubs where they
play Depeche Mode, NIN, Joy Division etc... i'm just not
into the lifestyle anymore so i have to suffer clubs with
shitty music, oh well...

yeah.... they suck here... i can tell you that. i have been
in clubs where the band playing was slightly dark, liek the
swans show i saw.... and EVERYONE there was so FAKE!!!!!!! i
wanted to scream!!! it was awful.
