Crappest current-gen console?

What's your opinion and why?

For me, it's the Gamecube. Boring games that take too long
to come out (not dissimilar to the xbox but I didn't vote
for that because I prefer it's future titles).

lol, you must be kidding. The GameCube is the only one of
them worth getting ;-)

There aren't very much game available for it yet (though
still enough to prevent me from getting bored), this is
true... but i'll take any NINTENDOgame over the entire
PS2-backcatalogue ;-)

Too true!
I dislike the PS2, it is overpriced and underpowered. Shame
all the developers are making games for it. The GameCube, i
feel, will fail. Not because it isn't an awesome system but
because of the developers. That only leaves the X-box...

still like the games on ps2, but the system is fucked. Right
now im on shenmueII for xbox, don't have the money for a
gcube yet

xbox without question. its like the jaguar all over again.
power beyond comprehension, better specs than the other two
consoles competing, and yet they can't develop a good game
for it. (halo isn't that great, get over it).

I don`t know why, but everytime I think about it the first
thing that comes to my mind are sport games

I always get console just after all the new ones come out,
the advantage is that you already know what's worth getting,
all the good games are already out, and everything is cheap

don't say mean things like that about a system with wind
waker, metroid prime, mario sunshine, and the prospect of
more mario and zelda games for it.
also, yeah, 120 gig hd is nice, but that means fuck all if
the games for the system are shit, which they are.

X-Box... only game I want to play on that is Halo,
everything else is negligible or available for the other
two. PS2 and Gamecube are indispensible. Xbox will NEVER
have games like Metroid Prime and the new Zelda.

i haven't really played anything for either of them... but
judging by controllers, x-box sucks fat donkey penis.

i'd like a gamecube... if i could afford it, but i can't.

the only system I would consider crappy would have to be an
"x-box". I've played just about every console but
there doesn't seem to be any title on the x-box that makes
me want to play it.
Nothing has come close to the goosebumps I felt when playing
a wind waker demo the other day, now that's
impressive game design

Xbox - no games = no fun

Cube - has quality on its side,

PS2 - you have to be very careful what games to pick. But
many are great.

that is so true zaphod about the x-box really being
the jaguar of the present day, it was the first 64bit
console to be released and even being the most powerful
couldn't save it! (oh yeah, it also had an oversized
controller too come to think of it.)

I have a Jaguar (I got it recently off of ebay) and it was
NOT very powerful at all. Starfox for SNES is about as
impressive as cybermorph, the big title that came with the
jaguar. I'd like to defend the xbox (*cough* because I'm
interning with the xbox team this summer *cough*)! I'm a big
sega fan (an ex-nintendo fan boy) and xbox has House of the
Dead III, Shenmue II and Panzer Dragoon Orta, all really
great stuff from sega. PS2 doesn't have too many games that
interest me... Final Fantasy X is the only one that I really
like. Gamecube has Mario Sunshine and Windwaker... Mario
Sunshine was fun, but was not as good as Mario 64...
Windwaker is identical to the other Zelda games besides they
added the grappling hook and the cell shaded look. So, I
guess the point is, Jaguar sucks, Xbox does not, and none of
the systems have a really good showing at this point....
BUT, the most important thing to note, is that each system
is good depending on what type of games you like. If we are
comparing them from a hardware standpoint, the xbox wins!!!

X-Box is because the PS2 has it beat in the sheer nuber of
games and the GCN beats it in quality.

screamunheard "I have a Jaguar (I got it recently off of

having greater specs compared to the snes and genisis, and
being the most powerful home console at that time

Xbox is POO. I admit it has a few decent games and may be
more powerful than a PS2 but so what? 95% of the xbox games
suck unless you like sports games. I'll take Xenosaga and
.hack any day over any xbox game. That and PS2 has GTA.
Need I say more?

Jaguar was not the first 64 bit system, just to clarify...
it was a cheap fake: 2 32 bit processors... the sega saturn
even had 3 32 bit processors. The nintendo 64 was the first
TRUE 64 bit system.

did you notice how BIG the xbox console is?? and how HOT the
console gets while playing...

however... the GC feels better, really Nintendo quality. PS2
has lower specifications. I really hate the xbox for being
PC-designed. I hate that harddisc, It feels like microsoft
tries to push the console market over to the PC market. GC
is the best, though it's a pity the games amount is lower.

They are all like PC's though, the only diff with the xbox
is it has a hdd and that's awesome (I'm sure you realize the
potential of the hdd)!
Playing Panzer Dragoon makes the xbox seem worth the money
alone for me, it's just a matter of what you like I guess.
For gawds sake though, don't blame the hardware, xbox owns
the other two...

I was trying to point out that the Jaguar really wasn't all
that outstanding even for the time. It was actually just
hype. Something cool though, was they got some of the guys
from Skinny Puppy to do an ad for it. It's one of the best
commercials I've seen! It doesn't have anything to do with
the console though...

The new controller for xbox is way better! It does NOT hurt
your hands. The Xbox is big, but it's full inside. It needs
to fit a HD, and something almost identical to a PC
motherboard... No one is complaining that their PC is too
big!

check your map in SMS, there you should be able to see how
many blue coins you have collected for each area, most have
30 I think, so look for some 29's or 28's. It doesn't tell
you what episode the missing coins are on but it helps

They're all very good systems with their own strengths and
weaknesses. The Gamecube is my definate favorite right now
but I can see that quickly changing to Xbox in the upcoming
months.. Take a look at these exclusives :
Deus Ex II, B.C., Fable, Psychonauts, Star Wars:Knights of
the Old Republic, Halo 2, Doom III, Black and White --- Not
to mention superior versions of Starcraft:Ghost, Fallout,
and several other titles. But it's true: Right now there
are only two "MUST HAVE" games for the Xbox, which is pretty
ridiculous for a platform that's been out for a year and a
half; especially when you consider who's running things.
Gamecube still has more on the way as well though : Mario
128, Metroid*, Pikmin 2, Starfox*, F-Zero, Wario World,
Kirby's Dreamland*, Final Fantasy:Crystal Chronicles, and a
few others I'm probably forgeting.
PS2 has some really great games, I'm just not interested in
any of them enough to buy the system. Besides, it IS
starting to show it's age and $200 is just too much for a
subpar console.
The only noticeable exclusive they own right now is Vice
City and even that is getting ported to the PC later this
year. Xbox now has a much finer version of Metal Gear Solid
and Squaresoft is starting to develop for Nintendo again.

*no official title yet

have to import. Arrharharhar! *choke
Say, have you played that Star Wars:Bounty Hunter game for

recall reading any memorable reviews.
What's your verdict?

From http://www.gamespot.com/all/news/news_6024609.html :

Nintendo of America is currently dominating video game sales
in North America after three hit product launches in recent
weeks. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is currently the
best-selling console game after more than 600,000 copies
were preordered, and the latest Pokémon games, Ruby and
Sapphire, have dominated portable game sales since their
release on March 17. On the hardware front, Nintendo's new
Game Boy Advance SP is also flying off the shelves, with no
fewer than 800,000 consoles already sold in North America
alone.
"While no one will know the champion of this season's
college basketball tournament until next week, the winner of
this spring's video game tournament is Nintendo," said Peter
MacDougall, executive vice president of sales and marketing
at Nintendo of America. "Game Boy Advance SP, Zelda, and
Pokémon represent a three-point play that players and
retailers dream about."
"At what is traditionally a slow time of the year for video
games,
Nintendo has seized the sales initiative," said Richard
Simone, video game buyer, Toys "R" Us. "With their
blockbuster products--Game Boy Advance SP, The Legend of
Zelda, and Pokémon--they're a big part of why video games
are one of the truly bright spots at retail."
