she's the most talented female vocalist in the world in my
humble opinion. i can't describe the beauty of the instant
classic "out of season" album she made with rustin man

That album does kick ass. I would love to see her live.

I remember her singing getting on my nerves at first, but
once you get used to it you can really start to appreciate
it, much like björk, sounds strange at first, then sounds
awesome later.

for me it was love at first sight :) björk however i used
to hate when she was in the sucarcubes, before she got
really famous. I didn't really care for her music until she
released homogenic

i NEED to hear her album.. i like her voice more than
björks. björk has great stuff but no vocalist can top
beth.

(btw i love also a totally different kind of voice, that
kind of thin, cute and gentle voice as in mum songs)

didn't the múm singer quit the band? i hear they're coming
up with new stuff soon. a collaboration with some guy fom
japan or something?

i hope not.. although with sneaker pimps the quitting singer
just made the band more great..

777
indeed Nick Drake's voice is special... three albums are not
enough of it..

also, early Leonard Cohen (1967-1974) is really
something.... i can't believe the music he has done since,
though.. can't listen to it one bit...

i've borrowed his stuff from the library, thanks to beth and
her fascination with his music (the track drake on her
album). i've heard bryter layter and pink moon so far...
five leaves left is yet unheard.
i read about this finnish guy from helsingin sanomat once.
apparently he runs leonard's official site or something.
what am i babbling about! :D
recommend some songs of his for me, heikki!

neetta, recommend some sneaker pimps songs! i'm totally
unfamiliar with their work... you know my taste ;)

all right heikki... :)
the 1975 compilation of his four first albums is a really
good starting point i think... it feels like an album
really, at least to me. when i found it some weeks ago i
just couldn't stop listening to it - ten times a day, and
still sounded good... the one i've got is called 'Greatest
Hits' but i've seen it on cd as 'The Best Of'...
haha and what am i babbling!?
you asked me for songs...

i love everything on the collection but maybe try these:
Suzanne
Partisan
Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye
Famous Blue Raincoat
Who By Fire

heikki heikki

i'd recommend songs like 'strike me down' and 'waterboy'..

their older stuff isn't so emotionally cool as the newer..
ihaven't heard the newest one though. the album 'splinter'
is all in all good.

are you joking? imho lisa gerrard contribution to the
gladiator-soundtrack was the worst thing she ever did. but
she's a brilliant live-performer....

there's a rumour that Zack de la Rocha will take the place
of Hössi, the lead rapper of Quarashi. That would fit so
well since they have very simular style of singing. Zack and
Sölvi ("leader"/producer/drummer) have also the same
political views

doesn't he have a solo album coming out? de la rocha in an
icelandic band? well everything's possible...
