it is awesome!

i waited so long to get this album and i was really sorry
about that
about half of the tracks are his earlier work-more acoustic
guitar sounds, there are more traditional japanese sounds on
it-there's yokota's comment on the sleeve and some of his
own artwork...
(if you want i can send you the scan i made, so you can read
his comment and see some of the artwork, its not the best
scan but its readable)

here are some comments about album
-this is the sort of music you put on while you're doing the
washing up only to find it has taken control of your very
soul-mojo
-sexy and funny...image's micro mood engineering is pure
phantasmal pop. it makes you itch to hear whatever ivory
dice yokota rolls out next-the wire
-sublime-the times
-beauty incarnate-wax
-wonderfuly imaginative-sleaze nation
-evocative and beguiling-alternative press
-spine-tinglingly beautiful-wax

i just send you those two pages-if you want those photos in
better quality i should do more scans-the thing is the
sleeve is just one page packed into the box, so i cant make
one normal scan as i can only scan A4 format...

btw, here's a nice review by leaf

Susumu Yokota has earned praise for his super-funky blend of
house, techno, disco, jazz and breaks, with releases on
Japan's Sublime Records, among others. "[He] has more ideas
in the space of one album than most house producers have in
their entire careers" said Mixmag of 1999, his most recent
album on Sublime.

The Leaf Label has licensed 'Image 1983-1998', a collection
of mainly acoustic and oddly moving instrumental and vocal
pieces from Yokota's own Skintone label. It's a very
personal project, representing a very different side to his
musical persona to the one you may already be aware of. Five
of the tracks were recorded with guitars and organs in
1983-4, the remainder were inspired by those songs and were
recorded in 1997-8. There are already another two Skintone
albums ready to go, both in very different styles. Yokota is
proving increasingly difficult to pin down, which can only
be a good thing as far as we're concerned.

Already synonymous with dance music in Japan, Yokota first
attracted worldwide attention back in '92 with
Frankfurt-Tokyo Connection on Harthouse. Since then he has
enjoyed a prolific career as both a DJ and recording artist,
working under a host of pseudonyms, including 246, Ringo and
Prism (for Sublime and Reel Musiq) and Stevia (for NSCom).
'Morino Gakudan' and 'Kawano Hotorino Kinoshitade' were
included on the 'Osmosis' sampler.

The vinyl version of 'Image' is limited to 1,000 copies.
