.mk. from . on 2001-10-07 18:25 [#00039376]

ive read an interview where rich said he was going to create
a new label with tom jenkinson. is it true?
is this interview in the site?

Frothbottom from New York on 2001-10-07 19:01 [#00039378]

that would be a silly thing to do, for he already has
Rephlex.

Miro from Cold Rush City on 2001-10-07 19:42 [#00039380]

Yeah. And the first release is already out on the streets.
Men-1

That is the new label from Richard D. James and
Squarepusher.

But it is NOT a sublabel from Rephlex.

Archrival from NY on 2001-10-07 19:54 [#00039381]

yeah thats right, more afx mania will come from men-1
sooon...

Frothbottom from New York on 2001-10-07 20:01 [#00039382]

RDJ is releasing his own stuff from that new label?

Ex-Whore from Stamford, Ct., USA on 2001-10-07 20:16 [#00039384]

like Aphex like son.

Stutter Butter on 2001-10-07 20:17 [#00039387]

"Two Remixes By AFX" is/was the first release

fluffy bunny from mm on 2001-10-08 00:14 [#00039401]

excuse my mid-term memory, but did he have a contract with
Warp, or is like drukQs the last one he had to/did do ?? -

how true are the rumours that RDJ and Warp aint getting
along too well these days ..? I'll try and find the post
with that really long message that had a ll that shit
wrtiien on it .

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2001-10-08 02:01 [#00039411]

i read in the interview that druqs was his last album with
warp

fluffy bunny from mm on 2001-10-08 02:47 [#00039412]

sweet .. that's what I was after

ant from Montreal,Quebec,Canada on 2001-10-08 05:50 [#00039424]

Good thing then if Aphex stops to produce for Warp, anyhow,
they directed their whole label around him over the years
since they found out he was the genius among al the artists
they hired. How many artists have been sounding like him
since them?

rednaxella from germaniac on 2001-10-08 09:57 [#00039434]

i think a new label would be great (even more if it´s
really his last rec on warp) - maybe he pushes things even
more on that one - i still like to hear the stuff he
"threatens" labels with, like he used to say in interviews,
so maybe ... and besides: i think without him there
wouldn´t have been a warp like it is now! but on the other
hand EVERY fucking electronic musician that heard music of
rdj must be influenced in a kind of way, cause for me he did
stuff that wasn´t heard ever before ... like the beatles
for pop or something (sorry, won´t hype, but you know what
i mean i hope) :-)

Digi on 2001-10-08 16:30 [#00039490]

So Men-1 is the label?

japes from London on 2001-10-08 16:35 [#00039491]

No, MEN is an abbreviation of the label name (probably) and
01 reffers to the release number.

takeshi on 2001-10-08 17:02 [#00039500]

I just bought the MEN remixes this weekend. Got me excited
about the Twin again!

Dirty Priest from Denmark on 2001-10-08 18:28 [#00039519]

it says in this german interwiew that he´d create a new
label!

He´s oddly symphathetic in this interwiew actually. mellow!

fluffy bunny from mm on 2001-10-09 02:41 [#00039561]

no more APhex Twin .. AFX from here on in ?

Unless he makes up a new name like um :

Qendz Karven

or something ..

rednaxella from germaniac on 2001-10-09 08:03 [#00039578]

ummm, a german interview - could someone tell me which
paper, or website? i could buy and type it here ...

Trouser Mouse from inside a beep on 2001-10-09 12:21 [#00039657]

MEN is short for Mystery Men, which is AFX and
Squarepusher's new label.

rednaxella from germaniac on 2001-10-09 13:30 [#00039674]

so i finally found the interview (hehe) - men has nothing to
do with "mystery men" - it´s the catalog nr. ... rdj said
...
