What's the best way to quickly contact Boards of Canada or
their lawyers to get permission to use some of their songs
in a documentary for a class project?

Is this going to be broadcast or used commercially (ie to
make money)? If not, I wouldn't worry about it.

i second that. people borrow music all the time for school
projects. the artists when they hear about it are always
honored, not mad.

It's for a college TV station, non-commercial. However,
we're also doing a promotional peice for a non-profit
organization called the Sciencenter, which will be shown in
othe rmuseusm.

my bro used Sq. Pusher & Aphex trax for a class project he
did in his junior high school year. i wouldn't worry about
it. besides, i doubt the likelyhood of getting a response
from a a commercial artist would be high.

i would contact warp, as they would be the ones who own the
recordings.

True, but my professor told us we should contact them anyway
since we're supposed to be learning the legal & budget
aspects of a production.
