how come he does not get as much praise as the rest of them
:/ i finally got my royal astronomy and lunatic harness cds
and they kick so much ass! very eclectic, and the
composition is great.

i am also very much into expert knob twidlers (the drunken
sound)

how are his other alias things? i was thinking of purchasing
bantha tracks (thats his right?) but it was SOOO expensive.

appreciate!

cos he's not on warp (at least not as "µ-ziq"). if he was,
people here would be all over his dick like they are AFX,
Ae, Sqp, etc.

been a fan of his stuff since i discovered aphex. beautiful
melodies, awesome lyrics...hahaha, and lush beats. and he's
got a good sense of humor.

pft i hate ae, and []p- mike p is the shit, i wouldn't give
a fuck if he was making records in his mom's basement (sorta
like i am) his music's still better than anything other than
a few scattered afx songs

the overall quality of his stuff is so good. i discovered
him (as well as several other good artists) with a dream
injection collection.

tits: are people really so narrow :o

neeta - if u like mikes µ-ziq stuff then i'd recommend his
"full sunken breaks" release on his own planet µ label-its
his most recent works - until his release thats due this
year

vsnares is one of the FEW non-warp exceptions nigel, and
just remember, no one here gave 2 shits about VS until RDJ
started talking about him in the press

not that planet mu isn't a popular label on this board, i'm
just saying that it and its artists (incl. µ-ziq) aren't
going to be super popular (Ae-style) cos they ain't warp.

offline roygbivcore from Joyrex.com, of course! on 2003-03-25 11:12 [#00615405]

hahaha i know man i'm just foolin around but i would like to
say i was listening to snares before rich even mentioned
him, or at least, before i knew he mentioned him.

i learned about him from this kid i really hate and listened
to like 3 songs and i was hooked.

yeah, you're probably right. people are shallow like a ants
anus

if they have them. its just, i imagine they would be really
shallow.

before this mb i really had no clue about labels and such,
but i still knew what warp and rephlex are. labelling music
is even worse than genretising it.

He's definitely VERY underrated. Royal Astronomy is much
maligned, but I love it when artists use ''strings'' in
their tracks, I dig it. Can't wait for his new one.

Thats a bit of a generalized statment Titsworth, i got well
into Rephlex before i even started to listen to anyone on
Warp besides Aphex, i bought more Cylob, U-Ziq and global
Goon releases before i got any Squarepusher and Ae

I love u-ziq deffinatley looking forward to his new album on
Planet-Mu. And Jega's old album :)

U-ziq definitely rocks the big one.
The one thing I do not get is when people go totally bunkers
over Swan Vesta and call it his best work.
I mean, it is okay, but no more no less.
Roy Castle...now there´s a classic!!!

Mike P has been on Warp and Rephlex. Glad to see that he's
getting some respect finally. I rate him up there with Aphex
probably just edging in at number 2 as my all time favourite
electronic music maker. Especially with shit like Jake
Slazenger absolutely awesome. Mike P 4ever. :-)

of course it's a generalized statement, what's your point? i
didn't say it applies to everyone without exception.

also, just cos i'm talking about the way "the board" treats
non-warp artists (ie: jega) doesn't mean that those artists
aren't fantastic. popularity doesn't mean the same thing as
talent, as we all know...

release is the "Brace Yourself" EP

cool!, there is the cover of "Bilious Paths"

*downloading the samples of it*

Mike is awesome. His style is different with every release
nay: almost every song, its great because you cant really
get bored with him because he really doesn't do the same
shit over and over.

Royal Astronomy is very underrated and Lunatic Harness is
perfectly rated :)

Also I dont listen to Vsnares because AFXX mentioned
something about it. If anything I listened to VS because
mike said he was hooked. Which is crazy considering how
vastly different they are. Good music is good music so
listen to whatever the fuck you want and be happy.

no one here listens to VS cos RDJ started talking about him
in the media in 2001, they listen cos they enjoy it!
(hopefully). my point is that this board didn't start
talking about VS till he was mentioned by richard in some
news pieces. then people found out about it and started
listening. a LOT of artists have music that stands up just
as well as vsnares but RDJ hasn't mentioned them yet. when
he does they may be the next flavor of the year!

i still don't like vsnares.

i just wish there'd be a decent way of ordering all these
cool recommendations. record shops here just don't extrude
stuff like mikes. and i don't want to be a pirate :o
