Seeing the mock turtles on TOTP the other night reminded me
of how many shite bands clung onto the roses and the mondays
coat-tails for dear life. Can anyone else think of any other
shite baggy bands or shite bands who had a baggy makeover in
the early 90's?

Apart from

Paris Angels
Northside
Inspiral Carpets ( although this is debatable. They were
around at the start.)
Soup Dragons

If you're not too bothered I'm not either. All the interest
I had seemed to disappear as i was writing.

least.

He signed the stone roses to geffen? I hope he got the sack

Hey don't get me wrong. I'm NOT a charlatans fan. I just
think they can't be grouped in with the farm, northside,
candyflip etc. That's all.

Even the 'good' Madchester bands were mediocre. It was all a

I hope you're not including the happy mondays and the stone
roses in that statement. two of the most important bands of
all time.

Don't give me that shit. I was in rooftops in 89 and saw the
stone roses play in front of 500 people and I knew then that
something special had happened. Bummed was the album which
totally opened up my mind to all kinds of music. I was
there, I lived it and those two bands changed my life.

Shut the fuck up.

The Stone Roses were fucking crap. One half-decent debut and
a shocker of a second album and they achieve legendary
status to every indie schmindie student from provincial
England. Bollox.

(But I know you are just being ironic Hicksy)

Have i really gone that far that people don't know when I'm
being serious or not? I am the boy who cried wolf.

I was being serious.

You are obviously too young or too unfashionable to have
experienced it for yourself, jonesy. 1989 was our summer of
love. Glasgow Green was our woodstock. The E's were good and
we were all immortal.

And it was all because of the mondays and the roses.

It must be disappointing to have missed out on the most
important music revolution since punk. Not to worry though.
You might be there when the next one comes along.

I met bez once. Funny story.....

Hardly a music revolution Billy Boy. What mark has it left?
Big beat?
