Somebody on this mb was saying how their 26 Mixes CD1
skips. Is it on track 5 (Heroes) at around 1:47? That's
where mine skips, does everybody's copy do this?

Oh wait, I found the thread.

magicant reckons that windowlicker (acid edit) skips. I
don't think mine does.

I have the Japanese release of 26 mixes and it credits the
heroes track as being by Philip Glass - rather than David
Bowie. But I have the original small re-mix cd of heroes by
AFX and that credits the track as being by Bowie..

On Amazon etc it credits the track to Bowie - so are all
versions of 26 mixes this like mine (credit to Glass), or
like amazon site listing (credit to Bowie)

The reason I ask is there is also a typo on the back of mine
- one space too many before a comma (I notice these things
because I used to work in advertising) - and I wondered if
this tracklisting was different in Japan or something (hence
the mistake..)

haha, Morton that's classic.

TokyoJo> Mine's credited to Glass aswell. Nowhere does it
have credits to Bowie. Odd.

I used to have a mate (Japanese) who used to bang on and on
about this great punk band called The Crash.. It took me
ages to realise he was talking about The Clash..

I wouldn't say the skip wasn't noticeable, since I noticed
it the first time I put it on, when I was in the other room
doing some washing up. Maybe my hearing is as good as
TokyoJo's eyesight.

I would have thought that for such a high-profile release
(well, relatively so), that Warp would have done a better
job with the pressing that they appear to have done.

I went to my local wh smith yesterday, not entirely
expecting them to have it in stock, but they had Drukqs so i
was somewhat hopeful. I had to actually degrade myself to
asking the failed hairdresser behind the counter if they had
the new aphex twin album. She stared at me as if i was
talking a different language. Her reply waas something like
"never heard of them, but if it's a big seller we might get
it in." I went home dejected and just ordered it off the
net.

Yeah. I went to see if they had My Wrongs DVD, but when I
asked the lady she looked at me as though I were a
particularly malformed turd and said the same as the woman
you spoke to.

Although a friend of mine did tell me that Smiths had DrukQs
on sale for something like 2.99 a while back (not in every
store unfortunately).

You surprise me Bill, I would have thought someone as wise
as yourself would know that WH Smith is perhaps the worst
place in the world you can (or can't) buy music from!

I do realise it's not the best music outlet in the world but
as I have previously said, it stocked drukqs when it came
out. I used to go into glasgow for my more elitist records
but now i usually just order through the net.

there were at least 5 recordshops in my city who had them in
stock
strange that it's so hard to get in some places (if you
don't have internet)

this skipping error =)

Hmm, audio cuts out between 1:47.582 - 1:47.639. That's a
whole 0.057 seconds of audio missing. Grr.

I don't think there is such a thing as a good one. I presume
they were all pressed from the same master and hence all
have the same flaw.

I read somewhere that a sample of his soon to be released

Anyone found it yet?
