i'm a christian and don't deny any of those things and believe them to be just, yet muslims deny all the scriptures calling for murder of christians and jews in their "holy" book
also, the bible does not condone killing people who disagree with your beliefs... the scriptures calling for execution are referring to execution by the state, not mere civilians

Ha look at this hypocrisy as soon as fleas back is turned you are posting anti muslim threads on the board. Go and read a fucking bible.
Typical American response - bully boys of the world exploiting muslims for the sake of bloody oil. Sept 11 was an excuse to exploit muslims and the war on Afghanisation and now Iraq is a crime against humanity. What have the Iraqis done to America - threaten to cut off your oil supply. Swim in Iraqi blood fucker

vamason, don't you realise that your faith and their faith are just variants of the same fucking old faith that has existed since some sumerians.. people just make them different. if you are saying 'their religion is evil' you are at the same time saying YOUR religion is evil.
people always warned me of muslims - but now that i know a few i don't see the point. horrible things are done in the name of christianity as well, look at georgewbush and his god-meant war.

"no true christian can lose his faith "
I am Pagan, the Christian term "pagan" means someone who once was Christian. Its says so in your "Bible".
But lets not bitch about religion, thats how most problems in this world start, and I think we've got enough of those lately, don't you?

to talk of 'evil' is a classic dual problem
the idea that things are black and white, theres is one superior good where theres one infinitely bad, and so on and so on, this to me seems like a very unhealthy way of looking at things
the more a person divides up their perspective, albeit in an effort to clarify, in effect it only clouds ones view of reality

im not surprised this is being taken personally, because duality is so heavily embedded in modern culture. it makes sense to me though, the process of freeing yourself from duality achieves a person freedom from preconception, oneness with themselves and their surroundings.. and so on.
im still looking for a good link or two.. from memory a fantastic text outlining the similarities between religions and the problem of duality is ken wilbur's 'the spectrum of consciousness'

I have a few books on the subject. I would love to have started praticing, but I am not as commited as Buddhism requires.
I think I read a book by Ken Wilbur,I think.I'll have a search for "The spectrum of Consciousness"

so saying that a whole religion is evil sounds really silly to me.

it's not the religions that are evil, it's the people that falsely claim justification to their actions through it. They take a part from a holy scripture and bend it to fit their vision. In essence the core of all religions, although coming through different channels, basically preach the same virtues, but they get eagerly overlooked and smothered by people as they feel those virtues are the most difficult things to attain and maintain.
