christ i've been fucking obsessed with the lotr series lately. i just finished the two towers and am on the return of the king now. i love tolkien's literature! gah......frodo roks my soks!

i liked TOm too.....but my favorite was treebeard, but his character in the movie was incredible, it made me feel like i was really in middle earth.

Laqeuro: I like Gollum too, he's a more complex character than most people realize. I think the movies are doing a good job of showing that inner conflict.

I haven't been able to get into Robert Jordan very much... he just seems too damn wordy, like you could cut 200 pages out of each of his books and not lose a shred of plot.

LOTR? hmm. never got around to it.
but garth nix's series including sabriel, lirael, and the recently released abhorsen is just...well. absolutely fucking incredible. and anyone who's unfamiliar with these books but enjoys a good 'fantasy' here and there...well. look into it.
well worth your time.

arre they "carrtoony". its sounds silly but thats all i see when i rread LOTR's, little brrightly colourred carrtoon charracterrs.
Like in The Hobbit wherre the dwarrfs arre hanging therre rred and grreen and silverr hats up.

I dl a motion picture association copy of Two Towers right after the movie was released in theaters. I still saw it in the theater and plan to buy it, but I still couldn't help but laugh.

I have been wondering a little bit about Garth Nix's books. They don't have a "childish" feel, do they?
The last sort-of-fantasy books I read were the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman.
