I guess I like the fact that war has spawned some great
songs and albums throughout the years... and movies. And...
that's it.

I wonder if you'd still love it so much if it was your
country being bombed.

even the mildest war is still a horrible thing imo. I hope
you didn't lose anyone close to you :-(

Just the fact that people are randomly being killed in your
own country must be such a terrible experience... i'd be so
afraid i can't even imagine it.

Nacmat: i know what you mean. I sometimes wish we would have
some messageboard-members from iraq on here. Maybe then
people would show some more respect and not talk about how
cool war is and how spectacular the explosions look on cnn.

Yes of course, you're in the money, that completely cancels
out the fact that people are going to lose their lives, go
ahead forget it about it, it's none of your concern.

"people who join the army know the risks"

Most of them were probably drafted. And even if they did
volunteer to join the army, that still doesn't mean there
lives are less valueable than any other human being

i was watching (by accident) some comment by some US
general, he said something like this: "respect to all the
soldiers that are willing to risk their lives for defending
our country..."
how sick is this?

they know the risks yes... but go and tell a dead
soldier´s family how much you love war...

isnt that a disrespect? I think so... but again is just my
opinion.

but I am sure cuntychuck can make fun of this post too...
cos this is all really very funny... no dramatic at all

It's not down to opinion, it's down to fact.

"risk their lives for defending our country..." "

yes... dying for your country... that is such a ridiculous
concept. I can hardly imagine anyone getting any comfort
from that thought. If anything it would make me more
angry... it means they died for nothing.
