AFX faces on NME

Sound Assassin from Patent Office UK on 2001-10-04 15:47 [#00038911]

Man, he sure is ugly - (go to warp.com) -

Have fun.

balthus from europe on 2001-10-04 16:03 [#00038919]

uh-oh. really weird photos. i guess rdj is now as interested
in photography as in music. on the cover of drukqs, he is
credited for the cover and booklet photos, too. maybe those
ugly self-portraits were originally destined for the new
album. if richard repeats in doing photos like this, i
really think he wants to get the turner prize. his photos
are very much in the style of recent british art like damien
hirst ( the photo 'with dead head') and... chris cunningham.

Chrispy from UK on 2001-10-04 16:05 [#00038921]

Whats the name of that lady who did all those photographs
and images for Orbital? Ya know, the one that the brothers
dedicated "The Girl with the Sun in Her Head" to....

Sound Assassin from Patent Office UK on 2001-10-04 16:08 [#00038923]

Yeah, he should do a gallery, and play his music in the
background...man that would be scary!

Have fun.

balthus from europe on 2001-10-04 16:12 [#00038924]

yeah, that's true, sound assassin. would be great.

(btw, chris cunningham's come to daddy is so brilliant. i
can't that believe rdj and he are not making a film
together. both should have done a.i.)

Sound Assassin from Patent Office UK on 2001-10-04 16:21 [#00038930]

I always thought he was gonna go into filmz - his last "I'm
giving up music" was supposed to be for film work!

Ahwell - which would you rather!?!?

Personally I'd like to see both!!

Have fun.

balthus from europe on 2001-10-04 16:26 [#00038931]

i definetly would like to see a chris cunningham film with
input by rdj, and not only musical input (though i often
thought, 'this would be great music for a film' when
listening to aphex)... like phil glass input while working
with godfrey reggio on koyaansqatsi (or now their work on
naqqoyqatsi), where glass had influence on the cut and
length of the scenes, with his music.

Robin Milding from Gothenburg, Sweden on 2001-10-04 16:29 [#00038932]

There were talks about Chris Cunningham doing a movie
version of "Neuromancer" and that Richard was going to
handle the music but I don't what's become of it.

Dirty Priest from Denmark on 2001-10-04 16:30 [#00038933]

its dead...

balthus from europe on 2001-10-04 16:30 [#00038934]

i heard that the project was cancelled, which really is sad.
they should do some kind of sf, or surreal.

Sound Assassin from Patent Office UK on 2001-10-04 16:34 [#00038935]

I wonder if he used a special program to generate the
pictures - or - whether it was just Paint shop pro or summit
or even drastic plastic surgery!!!?!?

Have fun.

Dentaku on 2001-10-04 21:21 [#00038967]

That just looks like a bunch of amateur Photoshop stuff like
on the back cover of Richard D. James Album.

Mat from Birmingham, UK on 2001-10-04 22:18 [#00038977]

aphex twin should score a David Lynch film : )

Narkotic from California, USA on 2001-10-04 22:29 [#00038980]

He used a string to tie up his lips and nose, and looks like
hes pressed against some glass or something..

balthus from europe on 2001-10-04 22:31 [#00038981]

it looks a bit like those bruce nauman photos titled 'making
a face'.
