After gettin the email for 26 Mixes for Cash from the Warp
Bot..it suddenly hit me..

This is probably the last Aphex Twin release:(
That makes Drukqs the last Aphex Twin album proper:(

why the last?

you mean as aphex twin, but not with another alias? or you
mean richard´s last release?

well dont worry about the name

think about how good stuff he made under the afx alias, or
causic or polygon window

he can/has released under AFX...and who knows he'll probably
come up with another cool name...alias. I'm only worried
about the dude dying.

how can aphex twin be warp property when sire has released
aphex twin albumns?

Good question. And according to warp

"His first full-length release for Belgium’s R&S label,
Selected Ambient Works 85-92"

So why does warp have exclusive rights?

what I'm worried about is... will his new releases under
whatever alias be distributed over here... I really hate
paying loads for imports...

The Sire releases are liscenced from Warp..Sire is the
distributor..if you look at your Sire CD's you will still
see a WARP logo on there...

Aphecks Twin....

why is James leaving Warp anyway??

i remember in that phony interview on the drukqs subsite,

the guy asked "whats the relationship like between you and
warp?"

and he said "you don't wanna know it's fucking bad"

i thought he was joking though...

That's why I think nobody should buy this cd of remixes.
He'll be forced to release something new to make his "cash".

Aphex Twin is indeed a great name. What a loony muggafunker.
Will anybody write his biography?

offline flea from depths of your mind (New Zealand) on 2003-03-20 19:28 [#00606721]

no no joking..there's been a feud brewing for quite a
while..Richard and Tom have set up their own label the MEN
imprints..that 2 remixes came out on...

nope. what was the purpose of that? was aphex trying to tell
us that he HAS that disorder, whatever it was called? Or was
it made by some other idiot.

i do hope RDJ keeps putting stuff out that is widely
available...he seems like the kind of recluse cranky artist
that will keep making music but only as long as he doesn't
get pressures to do so by a gazillion wanting fans...but i
suppose its too late for him now...he can keep it up and be
a tortured artist, or he can quit and be a letdown. thats
just speculation anyway...i don't know if thats really what
he's like...

What else should he go on a do, folks?! Plumbing..?!

AFX quitting is a stupid thought...no pun intended! I´m
pretty sure, that making music is all he can (some might
say, making music is the one thing he cannot do!!!)! :-))

I dunno, they said Drukqs was going to be the last one too
didn't they?

I'm not even sure I believe he is leaving warp...

Either way, I'm not bothered, he could record as "Polly
Prissy Pants" if his music was up to scratch and I'd buy it
:)

I'm on my third cup of the day as I type this. Yesterday I
had four cups and a can of red bull *bounces around the room

I mostly drink red bull style drinks then alcohol these
days, I do smoke a lot of cannabis tho. I remember when Red
Bull first came out people where drinking 6 cans off in one
to get a buzz. :> What would that cost for a small hit? }:>

Work I drink loads of water and some coffee to stimulate my
mind out of a zombie like boredom. :>

richard has already said he regrets going by other names, he
will only go by 'aphex twin' and 'afx' from now on and is
only on warp because they are offering him so much
freedom......if thats his last warp album then he will be
afx on rephlex for ever more......and it didnt sound like a
joke interview when i read it...
