I've never really listened to Autechre. What's a good
album to introduce me to their sound?

no get the warp compilation 'wap100', the ae track 'stop

... and don't worry if the step from Amber to Tri Repetea++
takes some time. ;).

yeah either start with the 1st one (incunabula) and listen
in chronological order

or.. start with 'tri repetae' afterwards go both ways and
find out which (older/newer) stuff you like most

Tri Repetea++ is their best overall, but all are worth
getting

and the new one out soon, draft 7.30

Check also the vietrmx21 topic somewhere. It's one of, if
not their best track.

My introduction to Autechre was ep7, i got it because it was

grows on you.

I'd recommend listening to ae's albums in chronological
order....the newer the tracks are the less accesible they
become. With Draft 7.30 though ae seems to be getting a
little more accessible though.

like i did,
start with the earlier stuff, incuabula and amber were
subtle masterpieces, then comes tri-repetae which will blow
you away, then comes the fun with chiastic
slide/lp5/ep7......

and don't forget basscad ep/anvil
vapre/envane/cichlisuite!!!!!!

and Garbage & Anti EP !!!

if you listen to incunabula and amber after their later
stuff you probably won't like them so start with the more
melodic and ambient side of autechre(incunabula and amber)

LP5 sums them up pretty damn well.

Depends on what you are used to listening to.
If aren't experienced (oké, wrong term but whatever) with
'unaccessable' music, go for incunabula and amber, otherwise
you can start just about anywhere. It's all good.
