Hi guys. I was just reading most of the "anxiety attacks"
thread and had to stop to write this. I really, really
relate to you guys! I was diagnosed w/ Panic Disorder in
2000. I too mistook it for acid flashbacks, the first bout
in '97 (lasted a few months), & for the first 6 mos. of the
2nd (in 2000) (which lasted a year or so) until I was
properly diagnosed. I was just given 3 different
prescriptions. Almost no counselling. Very disappointing,
especially since some Dr's treat panic disorder with
psychotherapy ONLY. I feel that my symptoms were medicated,
but whatever caused them is still there. I'm fine now, but
could see myself slipping into mental illness again. I too
fear that insanity is in my future (ophecks said that, I
think). Also, I think suicide could be quite a valid
response, or at least a re-occuring theme. If you want to
continue diiscussing this, I'd be quite happy too.

Dear me, hearing you saying this is really really worrying.
Please please get some professional help, today today today.
If you went and told a doctor what you wrote above, they
will give you the professional therapy you need.

Mention you would like to see a pyshchiatrist who
specialises in Cognitive Therapy. I think it can help a
lot.

No, REALLY, I'm fine now. I'm not suicidal. I would really
like to talk to a professional about stuff, tho. But
nothing urgent.
