i don't see it. even if, i think it's some custom built or

Mike P. said in an inteview that he has never seen any
evidence of Rich making his own gear. It's a marketing ploy
like the old stories about how he never used to sleep at
all, the rephlexes underwater cave recording studio etc.

Perhaps he modified existing ones, but building a sampler
from scratch would be nearly impossible unless you had your
own chips cut (very expensive). It's not the sort of thing
you can make on PCB like a simple analogue synth...

i think so too, building a synth is way hard from scratch,
or you could do a really simple one like one osc+distortion
to have a somewhat squarewave..., but modifying gear i'm
doin it all the time, old analog gear is a pleasure to open
and modify:D
