okay.. I need a completely unaltered soundbank to work
with.. every vst program I've encountered thus far has
includes various effected (get it?) instruments, many of
which are cool and everything, but if I didn't create the
sound, or do anything to affect the way it sounds, I dont
want it to take any part in any of my compositions... a bit
compulsive, yes, but the years without a record deal are
typically the ones with the most artistic integrity, no?

anyway.. I need something.. perhaps a soundbank from
a current keyboard model ripped into accessable computer
files? please don't tell me Reason (which samples a full
orchestra) is the only known program w/ what I'm looking for
because 1) I'm not spending that much money on a program
I've never tried and only want for it's samples 2) I've
d/led too many fucked up pirated versions to want to bother
finding another one

again.. anything that has for example grand piano, piano,
violin, cello, bass, etc samples that havent sounded like
they've been through the sweeping phaser forty times, please
LET ME KNOW!

btw the reason ones are only readable from within reason
itself anyway. they are stored in .rfl "refill" archives.

try www.amguk.co.uk they do sample cds in both audio and rex
format. think you can d/l demos i recommend you buy them. i
got 4 of their cds free with my sampler, adn they have good
samples on them and well organised by bpm,etc

Zero x are good for samples. Not too expensive either.

If you're after pro quality samples I recommend you buy
them- ones of DLable size tend not to be that good (okay,
reason's ones are pretty good, but still a hefty DL and you
can't use them outside reason)

i dont understand what your doing?

you want unefected samples?

your best bet would be to make tham yourself, from scratch.

get absynth - open a blank patch and start creating.

the ideal way would be to create them yourself like
hepburnenthorpe says.
FM7 is a nice virtual synth to do that with as well as
absynth.
For other samples I rely on STomper, Beatcreator and
Coaluga.

yes there are the ISO's of reason 2 on the net. thats how i
got it :) its 3 cds worth. it took some searching, but you
can find the site if you know what you are doing. i would
recommend that you dont download it though. i was given
retail reason 1 by my cousin 2nd hand, but with no box, etc
and he had registered it but forgotton password, so now free
upgrade to ver2. thats why i d/l ver2. i recommend that you
pay for it, or get something else. reason isnt that good.
imo reaktor, cooledit pro and some dx plugins will be more
than anyone needs. the reason sounds can only be used in
reason anyway. hint:if you do download it find the delerium
iso.

yes they are good, but when i hear a song on the radio with
a reason sample, i cringe. some of the samples are so
obvious. the orkester sound cd is good, but can only be used
in reason, which after a while will bug anyone. the
instrument samples are 44.1k 16 bit high quality, but i
reaaly think you should make your own samples. get cooledit
pro, timestretch. use a £40 microphone record things,
people. use effects. buy a samplecd of multi sampled
strings/brass/etc. think of the avalanches, they didnt use
sample cds, look how good their stuff is, all sampled
manually. the samples make the record!
