Pyschometric tests / job applications

I am applying for a job at the moment and there is a whole
pyschometric test part of the application...

I have come across this question before:

How honest are you? DO you think you should always keep a
promise whatever the cost may be?

Or - how reliable are you 1-5
How trustworthy are you 1-5

etc

DOes anybody here know anything about how these stupid tests
work and what kind of answer is considered good by the kind
of people who come up with these profiles. Of course if you
say you are definitely 5 on honesty, reliability etc then
you just look like a liar.. so what the fuck should you
say?

I am hoping someone on here might have studied this kind of
profiling as part of a psych degree or something and might
be able to give me some help..

Thanks!

You think it is better to be honest and say sometimes I lie,
cheat and spread gossip - (other questions..)

Of course they know everybody does this so is the whole
pyschometric test thing just a big test to see how honest
you can be?

hmm, i think so
i passed it that way at least...
they asked me questions like, if i ever get a feeling i
might hurt someone or attack my superior
i answered all this questions honestly and i passed
but if a job depends on it i'd think it over i guess...

Pick 4. Its not 5, its not 1.

I'd say 4 too.
They want to know that you've got the initiative to lie in
presenting yourself as the ideal candidate! Within the
realms of believability

He's right- they want to know you can lie (if you have to
deal with clients), but be believable.

Good "bad points" about yourself to use (don't use
perfectionist- that doesn't cut the mustard!):

Sometimes I find it hard to trust a team member if they've
let me down in the past.

I can be overly critical of inefficiancy.

I sometimes question a managers decision if I am certain it
is wrong.
