any fans here? aside from glasse. i have heard limited
stuff by these guys, but i REALLY dig the whole thing. i was
wondering if anyone could tell me which releases are the
best. i have heard the following:

rapoon - cold war: drum 'n' bass
the fires of the borderlands
easterly 6 or 7
...and parts of vernal crossing, and just an
illusion

zoviet - the decrim. of country music
digilogue
collusion

I've got quiet a bit of Zoviet France on mp3. Can't say I
like it too much. For sleeping it would be good. It just
seems like there isn't much to it, but I think It's supposed
to be like that. If you like one release you will prolly
like them all since they are all the same style.

ZF and Rapoon are great. Get whatever you can, it's all good
stuff.

i'm supposed to be working on a presentation about the movie
Cube for my Sci-Fi class.... so naturally i have to waste my
time with little things like this:

From the album Fires of the Borderlands, by Rapoon... the
second track "Groundswell", is soo fuckin' gorgeous... just
sit between a nice pair of speakers, jack the bass up... and
feel the subtle ethereal beauty of it all... hurray for the
Zoviets!

Zoviet France is good "background music" when you're talking
with friends. Good live too- probably my favourite laptop
act at ATP2003

"Zoviet France is good "background music" when you're
talking with friends."

If that's the case then I think you're not really into
it...

Tibbar: "Digilogue" is my favourite ZF release. Looks like
you've already got a great start at checking these artists
out

ceri: zoviet did a laptop set?
that's weird... i somehow picture them playing hand drums
and dropping bundles of sticks on the ground run through
heavy reverb. hahaha

laserbeak: yeh, since i started this thread i've heard some
other stuff that i liked. trying to get more into dead
voices on air, but something about spybey's approach feels a
little dry sometimes.

Not at all- I consider Smoker's Delight by N.O.W. good
background music too and I really like that :)
