and left it in a big pool of beer in a pub so its currently
being repaired. not that i miss it, more freedom.

cell phones are the devils work

but i could see a practical use for them in emergency
situations or work related

Panasonic GD96

The cool thing is that when i receive a sms message i hear
Kesson Daslef and when I receive a call I hear Donkey
Rhubarb. For the call was good also other rings as Cuckoo,
4, and Vordhosbn.

why do you show such contempt towards those of us who find
mobile telecommunications useful?

if you don't wanna use a mobile phone, fine, don't use one.

Some of us like to contact people, and be contactable,
anywhere we are.

not towards you, towards the device itself.

but why?

if you're gonna spout that there's harmful radiation coming
from it, you can't use that as an argument

there is harmful radiation coming from the VDU that you're
using at the moment, there's harmful radiation coming from
your tv, microwave, etc.

If you're gonna get brain damage, you're already a target
from those appliances, so if you use them, you might as well
use some more!

that's not my complaint. i believe the world is too small.
not physically, but this whole technology being able to see
you 24/7 thing is too much. global tracking satellites, etc.
it's all very creepy, and it all leads to something straight
outta brave new world. i liek my solitude. i like NOT having
people up my butt 24 hours a day. with a cellphone, what's
your excuse? you have it on you, why didnt you answer? then
you end up lying to the person... well, i just want my
privacy. that's what it comes down to for me. not preachin',
just want my alone time.

oh i understand :)

ive been reading 1984, and that scenario was quite
frightening because we're not far from that.

Yes, Mobile Phones are basically Global Satellite
Posititioning transmitters, and you can be tracked down to
within a couple of metres.

If you have one, any organisation with the necessary
equipment can track you down and contact you, track you etc
etc etc.

I use one because it's the only way i can talk to my
girlfriend (we have a long distance relationship).

yowch! i've been in one of those... yeah, in your case, i
can understand. in a doctor's case or a detective or
something, i can understand. it's just these kids that get
em for status that irk me. it's not cute. it's not fun.
having a nelly ringtone going off loudly in a diner is NOT
cool. that and the whole "big brother" thing

with my phone i always have just the standard Nokia
"Ring-Ring" sound.

the only time i would even consider using a personalised
ringtone is if i could sample a track and use that as my
ringtone (unfortunately i dont have one of the 3G phones)

it is annoying when someone's got some stupid fucking
ringtone, but we can't do anything about it.

mobiles phones are an integrated part of society now, and it
is inevitable before, at some point, it will be compulsory
to have a mobile, as hard-lines will be eradicated

Samsung A800, was great when i first got it but there are
lots of annoying things about it. Makes a loud noise when
switching on and the alarm goes off at 10AM EVERY MORNING
despite the fact that the alarm is not set!

thinking of getting the Motorola V500
