I used to really enjoy that show. But now all the people at
my work are constantly going round and saying things like
"proper bo" and "sha-mon" and various other catchphrases.
They suddenly think they are the funniest people in the
world because they can repeat what they saw in the show. The
same has happened with every other comedy show in recent
memory. The office, phoenix nights, ali g, Alan partridge
etc. It's now reached the stage where i hate the show and
cringe whenever i hear one of the catchphrases.

Why must the scum always ruin it for me?

Something which the office itself picks up on and sends up
(the characters using ali g and fast show catch phrases)
very well.

I know what you mean about it reducing your pleasure when
you watch the actual show...

I'm trying really hard to form an opinion on this. I don't
watch TV anymore so I can't really but yes Bill, that used
to fuck me off too. Such is life tho. People sometimes have
nothing better to do.

I swear some cunt just went by me there and said "proper
bo". And his knucklehead colleagues laughed. I'm going to
fucking garrotte him with a rusty wire.

Can I join this anti-populist movement... or would that just
defeat the object?

The problem with Bo Selecta is that only 50% is any good
(Michael Jackson, David Blained, Craig David, Scary Spice)
the rest (including Avid Merrion) is cringeworthy. I used to
say how great it was based on this 50%, but nobody agreed
with me. However the two "best of's" filtered out the crud,
and now everybody thinks it's the best thing since sliced
bread.

I watched about 30 seconds of it once and turned it over,
didn't think it was funny at all

The impersonations are the only things that I find funny
about the show. But I do find them extremely funny. I think
the David Blaine impersonation is incredible. It's
identical to my vision of what I think david Blaine is like.
That vision being a total fucking twat of a man.

I saw an episode of 4 non blondes and found it rather
amusing.

I'm afraid I'm not--it tickled my funny bone, and that's the
truth.

The scum should not be allowed access to good television. We
should just let them watch endless runs of eastenders, who
wants to be a millionaire, the salon, etc. When they
accidently watch a good programme, they don't fully
understand it and just begin repeating bits of the shows ad
nauseum. Yeah right, you are funny because you can do the
ner ner ner bits that david brent does. yeah, you're funny.
fucking scum. I'd shoot them all. Let not one escape.

i find that so annoying,
it's really irritating indeed,
i fully agree with you bill_hicks, but then again; don't i
always with you?

CeriJC said it right there lads... The Office itself
parodied that whole idea so that anyone who ever does that
crap again should look fucking thick as shit. Hell, a guy
i´m vaguely aquainted with looks like Ricky Gervace and
can´t seem to do enough impersonations of him, thus he
totally misses the point! Its just the sheep O.Ding bigtime

but as you rightly pointed out, people don't seem to grasp
the concept of parody. When you point out how moronic they,
as an 'office worker', look by doing an impression of a show
(i.e. The Office) that is parodying them doing an impression
of a show (e.g. Ali G), they just stare back blankly and
then flick their hand and say "booyakashaa". Tw*ts.
