Is that just being released in the UK now? I've had it for a
couple months, and it's awesome. Cool controlling two
characters at once, and the game if fucking beautiful... a
work of art. I want to impregnate Rebecca.

Yeah, I definately think it's the best of the series. None
of the others really did much for me but this one had me
hooked like a perch mid-may.

I cant wait for RE4... Zero is definately the best RE game
yet. It definately has the best, most animate/lively
prerendered backgrounds I have ever seen. That game kicks
ass.

Holy, time flies... seems like just yesterday when I picked
that sucker up at Wal Mart.

Fun game, I have fond memories of it. One of the better
looking games of the past 30 years. I don't like it as much
as Code Veronica, though. Playing that game for the first
time for Dreamcast back in '99 or something, that was a fun
night. I'm getting Resident Evil Outbreak tomorrow night.

Yep, Code Veronica on DC is still probably my favourite Resi
(although I like 3, too...)

I've still not played any of the GC ones. Let me know what
outbreak is like.

I only have the remake of the 1st resident evil on gamecube.
But I don't really like it :-(

I understand what they're trying to do... alot of the things
that frustrate me about it (the horrible controls,
constantly being out of ammo, not enough savepoints etc) are
probably all meant to make it scarier. But it's too much for
me. I like the atmosphere, and I got freaked out by it a
couple of times because of the zombies suddenly appearing.
Or the decaying dogs when I tried to open the front door
:-p. But after a couple of hours I realised I wasn't
enjoying myself at all. For me it's just not fun to play. I
hate being eaten by a zombie not because i was too slow, but
because the controls are too fucked up and I couldn't make
it out in time :-(

So I turned off the gamecube and thought I'd give it another
try later. But that was almost 3 months ago, and I haven't
touched the game even once :-p

Yes, I remember an interview with one of the resi creators
and he was saying how people always ask " why haven't you
sorted the controls out?" when you consider what a long
running series it is... it's precisely because the awkward
controls make you feel helpless that it works so well.

yes ofcourse. It makes perfect sense. But still... i wish
there would have been an Easy-mode too. :-) Or at least a
gradual learning curve!

I enjoyed Eternal Darkness so much more. The controls are
still a bit weird, but at least a little more playable and
logic. And that game starts out fairly easy... gradually
building up the amount of monsters you have to face. It's so
much better. Isn't there an easier Resident Evil-game than
the remake? I'd really like to get into the series...
especially after seeing the screenshots of RE4 :-D

That place doesn't suck, you suck.

Surrounded- Resident Evil 2 is the easiest, I think. And
it's my second favorite. I had trouble beating the first RE
with Chris, but RE2 is easy no matter how you tackle it.
TONS of ammo laying about, lots of health. RE3 is also a
pushover.

RE Zero's item dropping ability was a mixed bag. I loved the
fact that you could finally ditch something anywhere, but
the fact that you had to backtrack to get stuff added more
annoyance than actual challenge. Backtracking to get shit
just pads the game length. Sure, the magic boxes were a bit
silly, but at least it was fun. Running through empty halls
to get to a room full of shiny things is not my idea of
realism or enjoyment.

Awesome game otherwise.

Ophecks, i highly agree. the ability to drop items was one
of the few things of RE Zero that somewhat let me down - at
least they marked them on your map though. I was VERY glad
to have a better map system for the game.

Surrounded - Have you heard about RE4? It's a completely new
direction...

I finally got Res 1, it's the only one I've not played
(aside from the weird light gun/GB spin-offs). I think it's
probably my second favourite, Veronica still has top spot,
but this is very good. lovely visuals and a good storyline
too.

Veronica will always be my favorite. It was long, and the
only one that really got tough at times (Chris' adventure on
the first RE for PS1 was a real bitch).

Have you played Outbreak? Don't disregard it just because it
wasn't assigned a number, it's a keeper, way better than all
those stupid Survivor/Gunner spinoffs. And flawed but fun
online.
