hAnkyPhexTwin from Tucson, AZ on 2001-02-23 08:09 [#00000264]

The only one that I'm wondering about and I'm pretty certain
that it isn't Aphex is the so-called Aphex Twin - Vis
Inack...

but what is it that you are pondering about on those mp3s
that you have?

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-23 08:15 [#00000265]

I'm feeling quite ready to put 'Vis Inack' in the
Hoaxes-list now...

diastole from http://homstead.com/diastole1 on 2001-02-23 11:11 [#00000270]

well, I had a look in the hoaxes file and i have the 'rare
duet', and it is rare, but in a different sense, but I had
one called ahhhhh, well, i wil have to get back to you, but
I have checked out all the releases and I just have half of
them, so, it probably does exist, but this mp3 doesn't
really sound like him, I just wonder if i had got the file
names mixed up...

diastole from http://homstead.com/diastole1 on 2001-02-23 15:43 [#00000276]

well, let me see if i can explain...I have a copy on mp3 of
'bummy' as rdj as afx...yeah...well funky tune witha bit of
a sample of strings in there, is that right, or have I got
the files mixed up...the album is a compilation called
'mealtime' by virgin records '97...very good tune though!!
listening to it now, slowing down and getting going again!!
WOW gotta love it, I'll see if i can reconstruct the tune on
my violin....w'hey, in't life tops!!!!!

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-23 18:06 [#00000289]

Yes, Bummy is made by Richard.

diastole from http://homstead.com/diastole1 on 2001-02-23 18:16 [#00000290]

yeah, i knew bummy was by rdj, but i just wanted to verify,
by describing to you, if it was the fight one, as it didn;t
really sound like the rest of his material.

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-23 18:57 [#00000294]

OK, Diastole, follow this link and compare it to your
copy.

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-23 19:26 [#00000295]

It's probably the right one... =)

diastole from http://homstead.com/diastole1 on 2001-02-23 20:23 [#00000302]

hey, show off, yeah it is the right one, from the same album
comp.
I just didn't think it souded like rdj's style, but hey,
what a great tune!
I don't really listen to much afx now-a-days, spend more
time discovering to new artists, but i think his stuff is
tops.

Max Slugoskudsnokiczynski from Jupiter on 2001-02-24 03:30 [#00000344]

I have

Max Slugoskudsnokiczynski from Jupiter on 2001-02-24 03:32 [#00000345]

a song called Crappy. It is real fast and sounds like it
could be rdj. kinda repetetive though

diastole from http://homstead.com/diastole1 on 2001-02-24 10:17 [#00000353]

is it anygood, mp3 yeah? could you send us a copy? i would
love a tune called 'crappy', it sounds like the sort of
title rdj would name a tune..

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-24 22:58 [#00000419]

Sure....'Crappy' exists...it was played during an
'Ultrasound' interview...but it's unreleased and Richard is
just saying it's a crappy tune...kind of.

Ohin from USA on 2001-02-24 23:54 [#00000425]

I heard somewhere (in an interview I think) that the song
crappy was an older version of the mathematical equation
song on windowlicker, I could be wrong though.

Max Slugoskudsnokiczynski from Jupiter on 2001-02-24 23:55 [#00000426]

Cool, thanks. What about a song called Greenwich then?

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-25 13:38 [#00000450]

Never heard of it...Why are you suspecting 'Greenwich' being
a track made by Richard?

hedtwin from Manchester, England. on 2001-02-25 13:45 [#00000452]

i downloaded greenwich as well, it said it was aphex, i
thought it was alright

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-25 13:48 [#00000453]

Guess we've just found another hoax. The 'Greenwich'-track
is not made Richard. (I have not heard it though...could be
a renamed existing track).

Please, send it to me.

hedtwin from Manchester, England. on 2001-02-25 15:41 [#00000455]

it is 4 minutes long, but i will make a little sample of it
later and send that to you, if that is ok.
otherwise you can download it from audiogalaxy

Robert J. Jackson from Austin, Texas on 2001-02-26 00:06 [#00000489]

There are some tracks I have found that either just can't be
by him, and there are some that I know are not by the man.
There are MP3's out there that claim the song "Autumn Acid"
is by The Aphex Twin. Some say it's a duet between him and
Autechre. This is not true. It is by U-ziq, off of the album
"Royal Astronomy". There are two songs that I don't want to
believe are by Richard. For one, there is this total shit
song called "Maximum Electronica". The name in itself
cancels out any possibility of it being by him. Another song
called "Rocked by Rave" sounds like something made by
Americans. It just cannot be him, however flexible he can
be. I can't remember any other songs off of the top of my
head. There are so many MP3's out there that are falsely
accredited to Mr. James, by dipshits that hardly have the
foggiest idea of what an isolated style he has, or how to
spot it
And yes, "Bummy" is undeniably by Richard. Nobody else could
have made that song, whether they be better or worse.

hedtwin from Manchester, England. on 2001-02-26 00:11 [#00000491]

rocked by rave is by the evolution control comitee. When i
foufn it, teh website said it was aphex, but the ID3 tag
said it was by evolution commity.

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-26 09:01 [#00000515]

The 'Maximum Electronica'-case could just me a mistake,
since Aphex Twin is actually appearing on a compilation
named 'Maximum Electronica' feat. 'Aphex Twin - On [Mu-Ziq Mix]'

nano from malmö on 2001-02-26 11:12 [#00000524]

Greenwich is from feelings on a screen by Bochum welt, wich
i got as mp3 where the album was called "aphex twin - bochum
welt" and the songs by aphex. but i beleve that its
completley fake?
also, is the bradley albums aphex? i think that i saw both
bochum welt and the bradley stuff scanned on some aphextwin
site.. a little confusing.

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-26 11:29 [#00000525]

Yes, Bradley Strider is Aphex Twin. Check out the
EXPLORE-section (why aren't you people discovering the
various sections of the site?).

diastole from http://homstead.com/diastole1 on 2001-02-26 12:01 [#00000526]

yes, i have bochum welt's greenwich also, i didn't think it
was the same track you were on about, very perceptive of
you.
i love boch.w....the live version of asteroids over berlin
is my fave.
and i think the feelings on a screen funny shaped rephlex cd
is that what fucked up my dvdcdrom drive on my pc..hmmm, oh
well, 'tis fixed now.
anyone got anything by aspen? cos soem of the stuff is
really ae/afx type, very good....

diastole from http://homstead.com/diastole1 on 2001-02-26 12:04 [#00000527]

re-cap.....'greenwich' is from the 'feelings on a screen'
funny shaped cd off rephlex records (available from
warprecords.com) by BOHCUM WELT.
hmmmmmkaayyyyy

Garth Colasurdo from Albuquerque on 2001-08-13 21:45 [#00021559]

Rocked by Rave is really "Rocked by Rape" by the
Evolutionary Control Committee. Featuring Dan Rather as the
vocals saying, among other bad things from the American
news, "Rocked by Rape." I have a single by them featuring a
hilarious blend of Herb Albert and Public Enemy. I can get
more infomation from the single if you are interested.

Definitly not RDJ but interesting none the less.

=|R3FL3X|= from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-08-13 22:42 [#00021569]

Rocked By Rave is funny. I found that a long time ago in my
search for random RDJ mp3s. Then I went to getting albums
instead. Darn mp3s. Yeah there are many hoaxes. Bummy is an
excellent fucking song.. great.

Dave on 2001-08-14 01:42 [#00021589]

Phobiazero, how comprehensive is your discography on this
site? i mean, comparing it to other discographies around
the web, it seems pretty damn complete. but is there the
possibility that there's some other stuff out there that has
fallen through the cracks?

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-08-14 02:22 [#00021594]

Hey Phobiazero: Do you need a cover scan for Various
Artists: Mealtime on planet-Mu with AFX-Bummy on it? I have
it on 12" and would be glad to supply.

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-08-14 02:28 [#00021598]

also PZ: I'm surprised you didn't know this but in your
hoaxes section you have listed Aphex Twin / Robert Miles -
Rare Duet as unknown origin.

It is Torley Wong - Xristophan
You might want to update that information.

I'm really surprised you don't like that song, the piano
work is amazing...I can see how it could be believed as a
Robert Miles / Aphex duet, except that I knew right away it
wasn't.

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-08-14 08:04 [#00021653]

Dave:
Sure, there are some missing pieces, like a list of various
releases on some albums/singles. I'm constantly updating the
EXPLORE-section tho. Lot more is coming!

Xanatos:
It's already there... click here.

As for the hoaxes-list...I have decided to not waste much
time on it, more than having the list itself...but it would
really help me out a bit if you send me info like this.
Thanks!
