once a cd is scratched and skips as you play it, is there
any way it can be fixed?

and i dont want no stupid answers like find a genie and
grant a wish for it to be back to normal......

and actually...(and this may sound...different...to some) a
friend of mine used to use toothpaste. gently rub it in then
take a wet cloth and gently rub it off from the center to
outside of the disc.

i was a non-believer until she fixed a few of mine which
were though to be beyond repair. may have a been a fluke,
though. who knows?

Try to encode it on your Hard drive.

What was that cd? Custom songs?
I recently A HD full of my songs...

maybe you could try a different cd-player, as there is quite
some differences between them. It's good possible a
different player won't recognize any scratch at all..

But i don't know about how to repair a scratch. The layer is
too thin to remove one thin layer.

That's very true- and then burn a copy from the good CD
player :)

You want to get yourself the Skip Doctor. Although it
is quite pricey, so it only pays for itself once you have
repaired a number of CDs.

rip it with EAC to wav's and burn a new one. i did this with
a cd which didn't play in any normal player any more and i
got a brilliant result. it took 5 hours though, cause it
uses a special technique which works due to the fact that
the data on any cd is stored there three times (for
controlling purposes)
