Basement Jaxx and Ugly Duckling are playing here in Chicago in a couple weeks and I'm wondering if it's worth going to. I mean the Jaxx makes decent music, OK I suppose.. and Ugly Duckling is some pretty excellent hip-hop. I'm probably going more to see UD than anything else. But the Jaxx.. hmm, ??? |

I havn't heard of ugly duckling or JAXX, but have you heard of the MAXX comic books and the even better animation movie? It's great stuff, also I recently saw princess mononoke and it was the best movie I've ever seen. It made me feel sick. |

Basement Jaxx:- their parties are fuckin GREAT, ive been to a few at Loughborough Junction in London; I agree about the music, their latest album is forgettable, but live i reckon is their strength. Check it out is my advice |

Theyre probably promoting Rooty, which IS cheesy (wouldnt buy it to listen to at home) but its gonna sound much better in a room full of sweaty bodies with smiley faces and girls with tight little tops ..) than it does at any other time. Theyre bound to play stuff from Rendez-vous too which sounds good anyway . Ive got "flylife" on vinyl now i think of it. In fact im doing a set later tonight.mmm.... |
