IDM track title problems?

Does anyone here have problems with those crazy names?
Sometimes I see people referring to tracks not by name, but
by ''6th track on Confield'' or whatever. I've never had a
problem, I can probably spell every Autechre track title
correctly without looking at the track listings, and I never
get them confused.

I have problems with Drukqs, though... not only are they
strange words, but they're strangely SPELLED, too. And the
ones with numbers in them... I can never seem to remember
what number goes where. That AFX237v7 track... I can never
remember the numbers in there, only the AFX part.

I am one of those who say track 2 in confield or track 6 in
cd2 drukqs...

I wont bother to look at the tittles, they are meaningless
so I cant remember them...I just remember meaningful things

i love the titles! Who ever said songtitles were supposed to
be catchy and easy to remember?

I actually dislike the fact that in their early days
autechre gave some of their tracks very ordinary names like
"eggshell"... it immediately makes you think of an
eggshell... with all their other titles i don't get an
immediate mental image in my head. It's like abstract art
with words :-D
And for some reason they always seem to be fitting with the
music too. The Tri Rep. titles sound cold and mechanical,
like technical names that industrial companies give to
certain machine-parts. The Confield titles on the other
hand, sound obscure and dark... like words from a forreign
language that you don't understand.

And about druqks... i don't think those titles were meant to
be pronounced ;-) They're just beautiful to look at (i think
so anyway).

Well, I always remember the names without any problem if I
know the song well, and spell them correctly no matter how
bad it is. It doesn't spread to numbers though. Heh.

I like Ae's names because they usually suit the music pretty
well!

you mean 25101999?

I always remember that one because its obviously a date.
somehow that makes it stick.

i always to have to check my drukQs cd when i want to refer
to tracks like... 'hy a scullyas lyf a adhagrow' (is this
good?), for example...

not that much of a problem with Ae tracks, the ones i like
especially or the ones which are special, i remember the
titles. well, most of the time. (is it melve or vose in, the
short christmassy one on lp5? oh, ok, it's melve.)
the rest is just Ae, the music sounds just Ae, the track
titles sound just Ae, so i don't feel the need to speak
about it.

i'm just checking the tracks to be sure, because when i like
a track it's like when i like a person - knowing its name,
or caring about knowing it, is just respectful...

237 is a magic number. Never seen The Shining? Isn't there a
venetian snares track or album with those numbers in the
name?

I hate titles like "Bffgvanfesfkjsdkg",even if it would mean
something in Welsh. To me,a cool song title improves the
feeling I get about a song ten fold.
those shitty titles on drukqs are therefor spot on,as I
think the larger part of the album is jibberish and shite.
Only the readable song titles seem to be of interest.

I like fancy, beautiful names like Lentic Catachresis,
Chiastic Slide, Parhelic Triangle, Surripere, Pen Expers...
it's the true gibberish that gets on my nerves. AE has some
shit names, though, Draft has a few nonsensical titles.

well.....Catachresis is one of the best words I've heard in
a long time :D

to their music so much...

im starting to loose memory
i used to remember tracks by their position on the album (i
rarely know them by name), but lately i cant even do that
anymore (with some exepctions), so i need to hear at list
couple of seconds of the track-that is if im looking for
some particular track :)

I only remember about half of the names of the Drukqs
tracks, after having listend to it continuously for 2 years.
I think the cryptic names are kinda cool.

it annoys me when people give out only a track number for a
SAWII song, because with all the different versions around
you really have no clue what song they are on about.

I've titled all the tracks on that album the way richard
james did..

SAW2 CD1/2 TRKX then bracketed is like [weathered stone] or
[lichen]
