i have a problem with winxp, of course professional.
everyone said, that games go faster on it... shit i got an
athlon 1,7+
128 megs of ram and a geforce. unreal tournament 2003 works
10 frames slower !
i got direct x 9 and the newest nvidia drivers 41.09

has anyone got similar problems ? what should i do ?
different drivers ??

why 'of course professional'?

i wanna switch to home.

only real difference is the networking features I don't
really need.

you need more ram
win xp is built off the NT kernal.

it has _great_ memory management, meaning when you close an
app/program you will actually get that memeory back.

im sorry, but 128 is not enough for xp.

256-512 is definetely what you need.

unreal tourney 2k3 is a very power hungry game,

...get 256-512 (recommended 512)

I run XP prof SP1 and I have 512 megs of RAM. The thing is
that I don't like XP, I'm dissapointed. I run linux which of
course is much better. I'm planing of letting XP go and run
my window programs either in a Windows emulator or in VMWare
which is a great program.

128mb isn't enough for anything these days, especially
without 128-256mb of video/texture memory.

it's a new fucking kernal
what do you expect.

it's not xp's fault

it's the older game designs fault.

we're talking about "computers" here.

you try compatibililty mode?
i mean, shit.

nm not going to have thsi disucssion

elusive: why not virtual machines for XP? I haven't tried it
with XP but VMWare worked fine on W98 and NT.

There are a couple of Win programs I can't live without,
this is sad.
