Robert Del Naja, known as 3D, has been bailed by officers working on Operation Ore, the national crackdown on child porn.
Detectives seized computer equipment and a quantity of suspected drugs during a raid in Bristol on Tuesday.
Mr Del Naja has denied viewing child pornography.
Arrest
He said: "I have never looked at child pornography in my life. I am fully co-operating with the police. I have total faith in the justice system."
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "A man in his 30s from Bristol was arrested in connection with allegations of the possession of class A drugs and internet porn offences."
The arrest was made under the force's Operation Ricochet, which is part of Operation Ore.
Massive Attack rose to fame in the early 1990s with tracks such as Unfinished Sympathy and Safe From Harm.
They are currently in the charts with their fourth album 100th Window.

titsworth,
No thats loony conspiracy theory rubbish. Lol.
Innocent until proven guilty. Besides this whole thing is now officially becoming a witch hunt. And we all know what happened to those suspected of being witches during the middle ages. Leave it to the courts and the justice system.
Ophecks,
"I personally don't care, I don't like Massive Attack. "
What the hell kind of view is that? Christ I hope that others don't judge people in that way eitherwise it'd be a pretty screwed up society to live in.

titsworth,
No I don't believe that. That is the fantasy stuff of films. The reality is there are plenty of celebs with anti-war views alongside Joe Bloggs (everyday citizens). They are hardly a threat, they are not terrorists and a government just wouldn't be doing things like that. What your suggesting would literally finish off a government and its leaders. To put it plainly it just wouldn't happen. It is the sort of thing that Western governments don't do, however our friends like Saddam Hussein and Robert Mugabe would have little hesitation in setting someone up in that way in order to silence them.

Yeah, sorry, but I just really don't care. *shrug
It's awful and if he's guilty, hope he gets it good, but it's nothing I'll lose sleep over. I think I'll somehow make it through this trauma. If I liked them, I'd care. I don't worry about all the peds in this world unless it concerns me, because there's millions of them and I hear about them everday, and we only hear about a fraction of them.
Yes, I'm so evil and heartless, lynch me.

Enough to provoke an overzealous campaign to show the public the police are doing something about the current high-crime environment in England...
I've never heard of anybody in Massive Attack getting in trouble with law enforcement...

DaWeeze,
Yes I kinda half agree with what your saying. Police tend to go after weak or easy targets, when they ought to be hitting crime and Friday night violence at the route. Discipline in schools, zero-tolerence policy, no lottering or drinking in the streets, cadets training etc etc (don't know whether you'd agree with me there).
This high profile media hanging though its pretty unique to this country. Elsewhere it just doesn't go on.
