Reaktor, Dynamo and Battery ?

fluffy bunny on 2001-09-27 09:53 [#00037131]

Ok. Reaktor ofcourse is the ultimate out of those three ...
but it is quite a lot pricier.

ANyone got Dynamo .. or opinions regarding its capability
??? - And/or Battery.

I am am very keen to get Battery, but then (if forget
whether Dynamo has a sampler or not) Dynamo can probably
create a multitude of wonderful fucked upednessed sounds
which one could never .. or very difficult to achieve on
Battery (as well as the additional problem of actually
getting the samples)

Ok so I guess the question now is .. is it really worth
paying the considerable extra to get Reaktor, opposed to
just sticking with Dynamo ??

Is this cause you have a personal preference for hard ware
kit.. or do you actually know this ??

From what I gather Reaktor is pretty damn powerful - only
real draw back is that it isn't that instant, as it requires
some programming -

how could a synth constructor suck ???

Sweet .. that's what I suspected.

Fine with me .. personally I reckon software is pretty cool.
But hey .. thats what personal opinion is for.

AnYone else ???

just a little aside ..

Reflex : you know a lot of hard ware stuff : has a operating
system .. and similar components as to what one can find on
some sound cards (ie DSP chips and that) .. so I mean ,
apart from the obvious .. the interfacing - why excactly
have this thing against software ?? Don't get me wrong .. I
am just curious. Surely A nice beast of a computer, good
soundcard, midi controller keyboard .. possibly a midi
controller .. ie control freak or so .. ? i mean ..

I don't know what I mean.

I was informed about a synth a few months.

It was a Yamaha one from the early 90s that was quite cheap
but creates some nice sounds.

Any ideas ?

Sorry about the lack of info. I am a bloody idiot.

Lung dust.

wizards teeth: the yamaha synth you speak of may be a DX-7.
it is cheap and it is most noticeable for it's bell sounds.

As far as I know, Dynamo and Reaktor contain the same preset
kits, but Reaktor allows you to build your own synths etc.
Dynamo's got plenty of stuff for sample playback/general
sample mashing, I think. Good price too.

Ta ta,

Chris.

I\\\'d def download the Battery demo...
it\\\'s worth messing with... I\\\'m currently using to
make beats... and to tell you the truth, with this app as a
VST you can make any beat that you can imagine...
AFX, Squarepusher, you name it...

as far as the Reaktor and Dynamo...

simple: Do you want to build synths or play with NI library
of synths???

rock.
