Does anybody know of any software that will allow me to
upload video from my Digital Camcorder onto my PC via a USB
or serial port?

Cheers

By platform do you mean the camera? I have a Panasonic DV38
recording on miniDV. I have no video capture device
installed in my PC, which is a Pentium 4, 2.4 Ghz etc etc.
Does that help you?

ye. ive been buissy. but i can try to help you now.
i mostly use mac, so natrually i dont know to much about pc
software. but i think that it would be a good idea to buy a
firewire card (you should be able to get one for aboute 40$)
and get (i think, almost) any video editing software. the
only one i know for pc is "sonicfoudery vegas ...."
somthing, i dont know how it works or anything, i have only
used AVID (AVID work for pc i think, but its fucing
expensive and you need hardware) and Finalcut (witch is mac
only).

hope ive been help full.

I was trying to avoid getting any new hardware but it looks
as though I might have to. I'm not trying to do anything
serious, just burn some clips onto CD so I can send them to
a mate, so the most basic software should do the trick.
Looks like its a firewire card and whatever software I can
get my hands on. Thanks for your help eveyone.
