people from perth will notice that his release has been issued in this weeks xpressmag, which says: METAMATICS rewired in my manor hydrogen dukebox this is the first in a series of three projects fromlee norris, aka metamatics aka norken aka nacht plank(ect). the basic premise of this album is quite unique, in that there is bassically only one song (pod) which has been deconstructed and rebuilt by amateur artists found through the www.neoouija.com chat network. the resulting body of work is obviously quite eclectic, yet with an equally obvious connection through the samples and moods of each track. in fact, its quite possible to put the headphones on, tune the world out and imagine your listening to one long, schizophrenic symphony. fans of APHEX TWIN (or experimental electronica in general) will love delving into glitchy, coarse textures and often jolting chance, if only to see where this brave new world of cyberspace networking is taking us. |
