I hope I am in agreement with most of you when I say that
I am disgusted by the fact the "an email I received from
Mickey..." topic is still open . That thread represents the
hatred and intolerance that has become a staple on this
board. Every time I see it I get sick to my stomach. I'm so
disappointed that the staff thinks it is appropriate to keep
it open. Hypocritical even, that most topics are closed for
straying off topic. There wasn't initially a discussion
topic at all. Just a message to the webmaster saying to keep
an eye out for an email. Wtf? As crude of a way he went
about it, I think dobbin made his point. I believe it was
made within the first few hours. I also believe the problem
could have been resolved through private emails; this was
not the place to discuss the matter. All that thread has
become is a forum to fling shit at each other like apes.
Some of you might say that the thread was moving in a
positive direction, why not make a separate thread? One that
doesn't try to make an example out of earthleakage and
mickey? Furthermore. I will not be returning to this board
until that topic is closed. I don't think any of you really
give a shit either way whether I'm here or not. Let me
emphasize that this is NOT a shot at dobbin. All I really
want to do is express my dissatisfaction for the criteria of
an acceptable topic and hope that it is closed. It has been
open unnecessarily for far too long. If any of you are in
agreement with me please join me in a leave of absence to
protest hate and hypocrisy. Thank you.

monoids thread on how he finds fat people eating,
disgusting.

now, THAT should've been closed on sight.

Why does Morton wanna be a moderator so bad?...
Is it the power?

anyway a moderator has had to have been a member a looong
time and have an astute understanding of the various nuances
of the board members..so the banning and close downs are
not..hmm..unneccessary...

for example i can picture a lot of new members with the
power to ban itching to eliminate the likes of Baron Von
Pickle Foot, wMw..even myself...just for being themselves..

As I said in some other thread, I'm not sure 'bout coming a mod.

Though it wouldn't be wise to try and prevent me from becoming one.

:)

(I think I at least have to pay first (that would also give
me the possibility to post these pics in my replies))

hmm.. :D

heh, i had forgotten about that games-thread. But i'm glad
you liked them!

BubbleBees is very hard... especially if you try to go for
the big points and catch 2 or more bees in one bubble :-p

They also have a new game where you have to build a tower of
pigs :-) It's super-addictive!

"one day ill be in the high scores :)"

LOL! HHAHAHHAHA! I highly doubt it!
I gave up getting in those high scores a long time ago! :-p

Hey Morton- now's your chance to be a mod for a minute.

Click on ''close topic'' and it shall be done.

I should have done this earlier really, last time I saw the
topic it was pretty puny and Asche was talking about how
lazy fat people are and people were correcting him, telling
him that it could be glandular, seemed civil enough to me at
the time. Almost DEFENDING... erm, overweight people.

Actually i think moderators get picture-posting abilities
even if they haven't paid yet :-p

I wouldn't want to be a moderator though. I like to just
come here and post, hehe. I wouldn't want the responsiblity
of having to close topics and ban members, and have people
disagree with my decisions and blah blah blah! I really
don't see the appeal in becoming a moderator actually.

Jaworski: haha you're totally right there, and i know i'm
alsways moaning about wanting to become a mod, but it's
really nonsense. If i was offered to become one right now, i
wouldn't even do it. I'm sure i would screw this mb up
pretty fast (by closing the wrong threads or unintentionally
ban myself and other stupid things), the current mods/webms
do very well imo.

I even find it hard to cope with the responsibilities of
being a member already ;)

After reading thru this whole set of posts, I just had to
put MY two cents in...

Hmm Where to start, this whole topic brings up so many
issues, which in my opinion plagues the board.I myself would
NOT wanna have a moderator job. I give credit where it due,
the moderators now do the job and DO it fairly well IMO.
I believe it would be tough to have to kinda referee a room
of 100's of opinions and 100's of subjects a day...Listening
to All of our BS at one time or another.
This forum is my fav. because OF the mere fact that alomost
ANYTHING can be discussed here freely and friendly.
I am in total agreeance about the " fat people eating "
thread...HORRIBLE...I am not a fat guy in the least bit and
I was kinda disgusted by it...I thought of the "got an email
from M" subject was, YES kinda stupid to POST it out here,
but bound to move into, what my man QRTER calls -"depths of
the pits of
xltronic."

YES, TO BE FORGOTTEN and dealt with between those two.

So in closing, heh heh, I am very happy with the moderation
but I DID think you guys slipped letting that tasteless post
live or even BREATHE...

Oh cmere everyone...GIMMIE A HUG=)
and hurry back Doll wouldnt be the same without ya...

I regret not closing the Mickey topic... that was a tough
one. Like I said in my first post there, I was THIS close to
killing it, but I wasn't sure it was fair to Mickey, he
should have a word in and tell his side, some people were
even doubting it actually WAS him... and we never heard
anything from him yet. Maybe instead of just closing it, it
should have been deleted outright, it was the kind of thing
that really had no place here and shouldn't be seen by
ANYBODY but Dobbin. Delete it before too many people saw
it.

But yeah, as a mod, you're damned if you do and damned if
you don't... you lock it, you're a Nazi, the ''Thought
Police Gestapo''... you don't, you're a slacker. If I could
do it again I'd have just deleted it and e-mailed E-Leaky
explaining why.

Yeah, Monoid's initial post was pretty nasty... but there
wasn't any blatant ''fat bashing'' in the topic, none that I
can see. There was actually some pretty good points made
about the subject... it wasn't all that bad of a discussion.
Some lame jokes here and there but everyone was mostly
level-headed.

I was away when the topic REALLY took off to over 100 posts,
but even if I wasn't, I might not have locked it... and Ceri
didn't, and I can see why.
