I haven't listened in a few months.. I got back into them
prior to the release of riot act.. my favorites at the time
were 'you are' and 'around the bend'

immortality

I used to love pearl jam, and i still think their first 3
albums are all classic. They kinda lost it after that though
:-( Even though riot act is quite decent... it still doesn't
come close to vitalogy :-/

mine too! :-)
It's so extreme and uncompromising. Loud songs are really
aggressive, the ballads are all very emotional and the sad
songs almost make you cry. I'd love to see them make another
album like this one! (doubt it though...). Some people say
it's too inconsistent and with too much silly stuff between
the songs. But i disagree :-D I love it all!

exactly! but i understand when people dismiss the silly
stuff (ie, bugs), but it adds a certain something to the
album.

i love the part where he sings: i cannot stop the
thought/running in the dark/coming up a which way sign/all
good truants must decide...

But you are right though :-) The trapdoor in the sun is also
in those lyrics.

And given to fly isn't off vitalogy.

This album has too much great songs :-) My list of
favourites consists of almost the entire tracklisting...
spin the black circle
not for you (!)
tremor christ (!!)
nothingman (!!!)
corduroy (!!!!)
satan's bed
better man
immortality (!!!!!)

"but it adds a certain something to the album."

indeed it does. I didn't particularly enjoy them in the
beginning... but even then they didn't annoy me. Bugs made
me laugh :-p

And i think now i've just listened to this album so many
times i've grown to love even the things that aren't really
songs... they just belong there, and i can't imagine the
album without them.

hehe... well i had to make at least some decisions
;-) it would have been ridiculous if i just listed all the
songs.

But i love whipping yeah! I think i wrote those lyrics in
nearly all my schoolbooks :-p "don't need a helmet, i got a
hard hard head"... and all that, it's just a perfect song if
you're a confused teenager!

And yeah, i also really like Last Exit ;-) There, now i've
listed all the proper songs. (altough the song without words
(aye davanita) is also pretty good! :-p)

I wish you were on Soulseek, George. I have some
splendiferous mpegs of Pearl Jam live shit - there's an
amazing version of 'Indifference' by Eddie Vedder and Ben
Harper I have... there's a few versions of that floating
around
