a lot of people everywhere say "it grew on me" and i myself have said the same in reference to albums i didnt like at first .
yet recently it seems that if something doesnt grab me in the first minute i dont bother - im becoming VERY hard on music and most of it bores me lately - minus old stuff im just realizing rocks the juice stand
anyone feel the same?

Well until I find an album thats hard as fuck with beautiful melodic tones I'll be happy. But yeah I agree. The last album I TRULY loved to pieces was Revolver by The Beatles. And that was ages ago... :)

the american music industry finally got to you.
they brainwashed you with their disposable (sp?), pre-fabricated and generic artists.
they got to you with the 'i now consume music as a product not as an art' mentality.
therefore you transfered suck way of thinking to your music listening.
well... maybe not... just a hypothesis.

Yep, agree totally. It becomes worse if you buy more CDs all the time because new stuff doesn't get listened to as much as it perhaps otherwise would.

I've been doing that lately :-/
when i pick a cd to play, i usually try and do it so that I've listened to all my cds (that are worth listening to) an equal number of times.......... *STRANGE!!*

glad people are w/ me on this
its hard w/ electronic music cause at first it seems amazing (ie solvent) and after a while i just tire of it - few artists have lasting power
like when i throw on tri repetae for th 6,,000000,0000th time and i hear new noises and melodies
that is music - there are WAY too many artists today
like most the stuff on tigerbeat and stuff like vsnares w/ all the messed up no-sense-of-timing-drums - gets so boring on the second listen
we need more artists and fewer acts

Ohhh now that is a very good point. I can't say that I really dig that tigerbeat shit. I know where you are coming from there.
Artists and acts are different. I only try to support artists. Someone trying to get music out for the love of music.
Not someone just putting out music because they want to be a musician, talent you are born with. It's not something you can engineer. You can see that all the time in the music seen.
Real artists last the longest.

not to sound cliched but like bogdan raczynski
very few people could make the jump he made and hold my attention - the leap didnt sound contrived - it sounded real
thats a HUGE rarety nowadays
well besides justin timberlake
