hia & biosphere

quite amazing album-something for ambiental lovers to check
out
it's a bit darker than substrata, but pretty much the same
thing
i think they even sampled a portishead piece in on of the
tracks
lovelly stuff

Birmingham had an amazing electronica / ambient scene in the
early 90s, at Oscillate, Bonds. Really popular nights in a
fairly plush club full of great decor and fit girls.

HIA are the best of the lot, their live sets were epic, very
atmospheric acid twinged electonic / ambient with a bit of
sub bass thrown in for good measure.

I think the output of HIA has dried up. I recall them being
pretty ok during the early nineties, don't know what they're
like now though.
