I don't particularly care, it's had almost no affect on my
life

Ditto- most "news" on televison has no effect on my life
whatsoever. The rest has a negligible effect.

I hope this doesnt finally affect your (our) lives... cos if
a war starts, it could affect us all. (NO WAR PLASE)

someone working in the 90th flor in the north tower could
think: "tha middle east stupid problem doesnt affect my
life"

i don't think it was a good idea
i mean, c'mon IT IS important but people have been talking
of that war EVERYWHERE !
there tons of threads on war in irak, etc...
so why make a poll out of a question you already know more
than half the answer...

besides, i hadn't even looked at the poll...
yes, war, to make saddam go away???
no, blood for oil???
is it simple as that???
u know maybe we can make saddam go away without a war...

of course, real life is not as simple as a poll, there are
much more options, but here you have like the minimum, yes,
no, I dont know... so if you dont feel like saying yes or
no, you just have to say "I dont know"

I mean, it would be hard to put all the options in a poll...
so tune just decided to put like the more direct
responses...

ive been having this conversation with family, and read
about it also in letters to newspapers

i feel its inappropriate in ways for the protesters to go
about things the way they have.

for a start, weve already deployed the troops. the biggest
protests have happened after this. now the message sent is
not directed at the troops themselves, more toward the
governments.

however at this stage it has the effect of saying that the
individual soldier is doing the wrong thing. which theyre
not, theyre doing their jobs, serving their country.

some vietnam veterans have expressed concerns that our men &
women will be treated with less than respect when they
return, which would be another tragedy.

poll...

Thats true ! But "no blood for oil" is such a stupid term. I
think if the USA wanted to have to oil then they would have
given Saddam more money to secure their trading
relationship. IMO USA wants to assimilate the whole eastern
area to set up new markets for their products. This whole
"Terrorism / Weapon inspection thing" is mostly a farce.

hmm, that post you're replying to wasnt directed on this
particular poll
when i listen and read the comments of people that are
protesting against this war-most of them come up with
that-no blood for oil?
i don't think its just that issue what this is all about
here
i think many of those protestors are there just to oppose
something, not really doing because of their belive
i could be wrong, but that is the general impression i've
got about it

my friend I think you are wrong... well not wrong, but you
think diferent than me...

I believe that most of the protesters meant exactly what
they said... NO WAR... and if this war is not only for oil
it is for any other thing related to money and power, so its
the same for me.

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-02-20 04:50 [#00562708]

you really thing all this is happening because of the money
and power?
i think that saddam presents a certain danger, and should be
put away

but im in no way supporting the war
it should never happen...

offline fat kaimo from Finland on 2003-02-20 04:53 [#00562712]

i think the poll should stated:

* yes
* no
* i don't know

instead of saddam and oil
